This is an excellent team. But anyone who says Sweden's defense is better than Canada's (and I've seen it written a few times) is insane.

Way too many left handed shots in that lineup

depends on how you look at it really. sweden has an incredibly fast and mobile D group. I think if they were playing on a smaller ice surface, it's a no brainer that Canada has better D, but on the big ice surface, speed usually counts more than size.

i think they're more evenly matched then you think. i would still give canada the edge, but it's certainly not "insane" to suggest that sweden is almost as good, if not better.

at the very least, they EASILY have the second best D group in the tourney

Extremey solid, that first pairing can easily chew up 25-30 minutes per game once the medal round hits and be the best pairing going.

True, but what if there's a injury in the top 4? Who of the bottom 4 do you want to play 25 mins of hockey? That's where Hedman should have fitted, as a top 4 reserve.

If we stay healthy, it's a tight race with Canada. But also with King in net, allowing goals won't be a problem. Scoring enough is the quest for Sweden. This group of forward can either rise with the occasion or poop in a chair.

The Hedman snub is just ridiculous.
