The Avalanche have a Keystone cops in their defensive end. They really get to running around and chasing the puck. |

I'll start the first great trade off
I think we should trade Letang+maatta+sutter for ROR, Talbot, tanguay and a third |

I tend to agree with this feeling toward ROR. Great player, but his price is high and not worth it.
I dont think Hall is a viable option. We don't have the pieces they want for such a big name player.
I like the idea of getting a big name guy, because we supposedly have a bunch of ELC's to level out the cap next season, but I'm not sure it is the right move in season. This feels more like a mid June trade. |

Out of everyone I think Perron would be the best fit. He'd cost the least, is signed to a reasonable deal, still young and we would have a chance to resign him. He can play with either Sid or Geno but I have a feeling he would be great with 87 and 72. I think EDM would least likely to demand an over payment for Perron out of Yak, Hall etc. Dumoulin and a pick or two (no first) might get it done. Remember Douglas Murray went for 2 2nds. Another I could see is Despres plus maybe a later pick in the draft for Perron. As much as I would hate to do that, I would probably be okay with that. It would look like we robbed them because Despres will probably turn into a Goligosky or worse in Edmonton.. place is toxic.
Also I think we should make a move for tlusty no matter what, he can play with 71. While sid plays with perron |

I haven't watched the Av's this year, but I hate players that are so difficult in contract negotiations at young ages. Maybe he's worth it and yes I understand it's a business, but his stats over his young career do not indicate he's worth what he's getting paid and they certainly don't indicate he's worth the headache. |

Goligoski plays 24 minutes a night in Dallas on PP and PK. He is on pace for like 40 points again. Whats wrong with that? Edmonton would ritual kill a gretzky for that right now. |

Already makes six mill, not worth it. Grab Tlusty, see what he brings. He is younger than people think. And probably easy to retain. |

He is absolutely worth what hes being paid. Put up decent points as the 2c, one of the top 3 2-way players in the game, plays hard without ever taking a penalty...

I agree he's probably worth every penny especially as a center. However I agree with Ryan the cost to acquire him will be high and you're only getting a year and a half out of him. Fantastic player though. I hate that I've been agreeing with Ryan on these last couple blogs. |

I agree. I'm starting to believe a long term fix for the wing situation might not be viable during the season. There's just not many "hockey trades" anymore. Not to mention, our best trade chips are all prospects.
People talk about dealing Despres, Sutter, Martin, etc. If you trade those guys it will leave a significant hole come playoff time.

Coincidentally, among the 5 million posts yesterday, an Avs fan and I agreed on a ROR deal that included Harrington. We may see them go head to head tonight.
I differ from most opinions here on ROR. I think he's worth the salary. Perron is a good fit, for sure. I'd have no issues with him. But with Dupuis' cap relief, Sutter coming off the books, the anticipation of the cap rising, and looking like we will have some players on ELC next season, I think we can handle the salary issue.
Again, if Perron and Tlusty are the answers, then I'm content. But ROR would be awesome here, imo. |

Goligoski wasn't that good first few years with the stars. Last year was a pretty good year offensively, but his defense isn't top pair defenseman worthy. He looked really good in PIT, I was pretty much saying Despres wouldn't look too good in EDM until they figure it out (like dallas did) and his stock would be at it's highest with the pens and all the hype now rather than with EDM next year. We can all agree they aren't going anywhere for a while... |

I get that every player has the right to go after what he deserves, but I agree about it not being worth the headache. Even during that long negotiation with the Avs, his dad was going to the media and stuff... No thanks.
And he will 100% go after the hhighest bidder after this deal. He went to the KHL and then signed an offer sheet with a terrible Flames team. He's not taking a discount to resign here. |

Did I miss something? I wasn't aware that we needed another center, not to mention one that will cost the farm (pun intended). |

Really like what Despres brings. Probably shouldn't move him with uncertainty of martin and erhoff. Especially when despres is signed cheap and could very easily be a 3-4 dman next season |

I think you'd be looking at like a sutter plus harrington something like that I''m not sure of the value. Sutter and ROR have the same term left on their contract but Sutter is about 3 mil less and harrington is pretty intriguing prospect (guess we will find out more about him tonight) given the cap difference and the point production currently 16 for ROR and 14 for Sutter I don't think I do a deal for ROR. Especially when you consider his history in negotiations. Hell of a player though and would be great here. |

I don't know why you're writing about going all in on Taylor Hall everyday. He's not on the market. Not without you giving us Malkin in return. I know you think a whole bunch of crappy assets added up are gonna get you him but that's not the way things work. |

Hopefully we get a taste of Harrington tonight, he was paired with hoff in practice and I think that could be a great pairing. ROR would be awesome and he is worth the salary but like everyone said he would be practically a year and a half rental. He would chase the money and most likely want paul stastny money at least, especially if and when he would put up great numbers playing here in a contract year.

Malkin for hall? Here take Letang and sutter too. Why not give you three first rounders too. Hall is not coming to Pittsburgh |

Smith-Pelly, Jagr, and Glencross and roll the dice
Kunitz-Crosby-Jagr
Glencross-Malkin-Hornqvist
Comeau-Sutter-Downie
Klinkhamer-Goc-Smith-Pelly
Didn't account for who was going the other way in these trades, but im sure it could be done cap wise; and that wouldn't cripple our team.
