Thanks Jan!
I can't see the Athletic piece but I'm surprised Werenski isn't on there because he's A) good and B) already plays with Jones which is a natural pairing. I'd bet a few sheckles he makes it over McDonough who ain't getting any younger. Carlson (if he's still in form) and Jones are probably locks, but Fox has a shot vs. McAvoy and Petry depending on what the team is looking for. He might be the 7th guy as well.
I can't see the article so I'm curious who the forwards are. Off the cuff, I'd guess:
Tkachuk Matthews Kane
Connor Eichel Miller
Gaudreau Larkin Boeser
Pacioretty Hughes or Hayes JVR
Something like that. JVR is probably no longer in the mix but maybe a DeBrincat or Blake Wheeler as a Right hand shot. I'd definitely have Kreider on there for his speed and net front presence. Who else would do that? Tkachuk, but no one else really. Maybe Wheeler but he's not a speed guy and is getting up in age. With bigger ice, why risk it?
Anyway, I know it's a paysite, but if you could elaborate, I'm curious who is in the mix besides the obvious guys. Thanks!

To start projecting the Olympic teams now is a BIT premature. Sooo much can change in the next 9-12 months. For all we know, K'Andre Miller could be in the conversation by then! |

What a steal for the Ducks at #9 that year. Rangers need to go 7 straight centers this year in hopes they can land a steal of their own. Gotta assume that with the lack of prospect play in the past 12 months there will be a number of sleepers out there who would have broken out and climbed the board if given the chance to showcase their talents. Gonna be a very interesting draft if it’s not pushed and combined with the 2022 draft as some have speculated. - TC88
that would be crazy, how would they deal with draft picks in those two drafts already traded
Pittsburgh and Arizona are probably like yeah yeah yeah, we should combine those two drafts, yeah

Haha I know, if I didn’t hear it from McKenzie I would have called bs. I think it would be 2 drafts, just held at the same time. 2021 eligible players rounds 1-7 followed by 2022. |

This draft doesnt seem very strong for center prospects. If they end up in the lottery, they should either trade down or use the pick to get a premier center. |

From previous blog:
Ok but when you take guys out, someone else is there to replace their salary. It’s not like Deangelo and Strome come off the books and we just don’t have a 3rd pair RHD or 2C. Guys will be coming off ELC’s, coming off RFA and having multiple (possibly close to 3 with Zib and whoever u want to add) and ur at 30 million for 3 guys. U can’t build a team like that. - nyrangers9479
I, like the massive nerd that I am... ran the math over the course of 3 years on an excel spreadsheet. If they pick up Eichel and resign Ziba, theyll be able to keep everyone. In that last year, when LAF becomes a free agent, we buyout Trouba.
As I said before, the reason it works is because the contracts expire in a staggered fashion. In typical Rangers fashion, all these guys coming off ELC's will be taken to arbitration and will get bridge deals. These bridge deals are what makes it all work out. |

This division is shaping up to be as advertised!
4 way tie all sitting one point out of the playoff spots. |

You better redo your spreadsheet. Most NHL players must have FOUR years of NHL experience before they are eligible for salary arbitration. The term is reduced for those who signed their first NHL contract after the age of 20. (Shesterkin, for example).
Most players coming off the typical ELC of 3 years (Kakko, Lafrenière, etc) are NOT arbitration eligible.

i wonder where he was being played - C or W.
stats sheet only has him listed as a forward - so maybe he was being moved around a bunch |
