For those who consistently stated that taking a G in the Top 10 of a draft was bad and that there were other options out there...... I still think taking a G early on and giving him time to grow is a good deal. This move addressed a gaping hole in the Wing's line-up.

I STAND CORRECTED: A good G CAN be bought, never thought one couldn't be, BUT.....who backs up Ned now???

Superb move on Ras, time to continue growth at a lower cost. Excellent cap management and still lots of room for UFA moves.

Could this be the beginning of truly stocking up and making moves?

I need more popcorn!!!!

From the sound of it they might not have even been close. $3.5 million was what Ned was asking from Carolina,$1.5AAV is what they offered him. That probably means he expected to sign for less anyway. Canes were afraid he would get near that in arbitration. FOOLS! Their lose our gain!!!
