Personally i would have liked Clarke but i like Edvinsson way way better than picking Wallstedt. |

Edvinsson at one point was linked to Anaheim at 3. Clarke looks good too. I just love the way Edvinsson moves on the ice. Very exciting grab for me personally |

I’m a little surprised, but watch the film on Edvinsson. He’s 6’6” and skates like an SOB. Paired with Seider, that is two big boys (IF he works out, I know) that can both skate |

He does fill a big need on the left side of the defense. Now i hope that Svechkov is there at 22 to fill that center need. Maybe Raty, Dean or L'Heureux are possible for centers too. |

This week Yzerman added a goalie and high pick left D to the pipeline. He’s still really high on Raymond, so you have Zadina and Raymond as wingers. Really need centers for sure. Impressive pickup in net this week, for sure |

A lot of hate on Twitter about this pick (especially from Vancouver fans). Keep in mind that Seider was mocked pretty badly at first too. |

Bad pick. Size and skating is great. IQ is nothing special. Think of Jonathan Ericsson with better wheels. Not an awful player but his ceiling isn't anything close to Seider. I pick Eklund due to higher ceiling.
For context...
I said Cholowski was a bust on draft day. Said Seider was a stud. Said Raymond was a mistake. said hughes over zadina |

Not thrilled about this one. My suspicion / fear is that Edvinsson is one of those guys who impresses the eye test but the results just never measure up.
I guess we'll see. |

Except that best Swede available was Eklund. |

As per usual, I’m doing a screen shot to compare in a few years. Of course it could go south, but I am excited about this player. When I compiled all the clips and articles over the summer, his reels were a good watch. If this turns out poorly, it’s a shame. I’m optimistic but i don’t think we’ll see him in the NHL until 2023 or 2024 |

Who really cares what the Vancouver fans think. They don't like it because they were hoping he would be available when their team picked.

So essentially Ned is Ben Bishop and Cossa is vasilevsky, yzerman literally copy and pasting his Tampa blueprint lol. |

I’ll be honest, Cossa wasn’t on my radar. Yzerman obviously thought he wouldn’t be there at 23. This is a “wait and see” pick, again. The Captain can obviously draft a goalie well, we’ve seen. We’ll see if this pans out. Unfortunately, we went from 3 2nd round picks down to 1 this week. |

|
Those were my first two picks that I predicted, the rest of my selection are out the window due to the trades. I will take those two players plus Leddy and Ned. Great start Stevie. |

That would be surprising with georgiev and shesterkin but either way I don’t think he was making it past Edmonton either based on what their media has been pushing |

Just a quick “thank you” to everyone who is hanging out and commenting. Differences aside, it’s a dream come true to work like this during a draft. You’re all the reason I get to do this and I appreciate it. Enjoy the rest of the first round. We’ll see what Day 2 brings, assuming Yzerman doesn’t get another first round stab |
