For what it’s worth, it sounds like L.A. is close to extending Athanasiou

Have to think Vegas goes hard for Eichel.

Think they'd like Bert? Target Krebs?

In Chicago... it's looking very much like Pius Suter will be a free agent at 12:00 pm tomorrow. He has not been given a qualifying offer from Bowman as they're afraid he will get awarded too much money in arbitration.... I wonder if his agent has already put out his asking price. Stevie may want to look and see what's going on... Suter had a very good rookie season in Chicago I'd say. He was on their top line.

What do you guys think ? He's 25 years old and had 27 points in 55 games. He plays center.... which the Wings desperately need.

George Malik did a write up, that’s his Christmas list player for sure. If you guys can, go show him some love. George has been through hell and back to get back writing and he’s doing one heck of a job at it. I’d take Suter. If VAN is moving on from Boeser, I’d like to be in that discussion. There were rumors a couple weeks ago that they may move him

Bertuzzi is a head scratcher. There’s been no discussion yet, but Yzerman does his own thing. Teams are calling, but that just means Yzerman is listening. Not necessarily shopping. Last year really threw him off. I think he wanted more than Mantha on a term deal. No clue what’s going to happen there

I don't see Bertuzzi going anywhere. Personally I would like to see us acquire Gabriel Landeskog or Philipp Grubauer? But at what cost?

Maybe Vegas just cleared room to get Danault. It seems as if he did a real good job against them. This would also allow them some cap space to acquire a good back-up in FA. Mrazek, Andersen, Halak, Ullmark, or Reimer, or even Bernier! Why trade for an injured Eichel???

I believe Steve signs one mid-level UFA forward. The team needs to show significant improvement each year in order to maintain a positive momentum. That is imperative. Either Danault or Wennberg would be my guess.

Danault rumor from the other day is still fascinating. Not sure if it has legs, but as long as the dollars are good I’m fine

I know it's not likely to happen, but I like Christian Dvorak and the Coyotes seem to be trading away everyone. He's 25 and a Center.

I would love Landy but not at the price he is asking for.

Zero interest in Grubauer. We just landed Ned. Have Greiss as the vet. Used a 1st rounder on Cossa.

I'd be interested as a 3C. Seems like he could jump to a 2C in a pinch.

Not announced yet but I have to assume. Just can’t seem to crack the lineup

For the fans of Schmidt, he refused to waive NTC for Winnipeg (possibly multiple times)

I think there will be a lot of interest in Pius Suter... that may well drive up the price. Luckily Stevie has the cap space to go higher if he really wants him. We'll see what the Captain comes up with tomorrow... we may be in for some surprises. Getting Suter would help out with our needs at Center.

Honestly, I know where we are in the rebuild and all, but I'd throw money and term at Landeskog. We need some more scoring.

It always feels like Yzerman is going to do at least one surprising thing anymore. Keeps everyone on their toes for sure

NIck Ritchie also did not get a qualifying offer from the Bruins... that's also surprising to me... Looks like they don't want to risk the arbitration ruling since it will most likely be a nice raise that Boston does not want to pay. He's another player Yzerman should look at. He's got 15 goals and 11 assists in 56 games and he's 25 years old

Almost an identical situation as Pius Suter... Both of these guys would be good stop-gap players for Detroit... or long term players if they are good enough to keep a roster spot. Stevie has some options to pick up some decent players to add some offense to this team without giving up any assets.
