Jeremy Laura: Wings vs Blue Jackets - pregame

Update - Larkin, Raymond, Zadina and Veleno all on the roster vs CBJ. Much more exciting than I originally thought!

Had been waiting to see what the line-ups were. Guess they need a bit more time to become a cohesive Blash line (insert sarcastic voice here). Seriously, good news to see some of the expected regulars getting some ice-time. Excited to see how Raymond plays, if it's anything like what we've previously seen......we're in for a treat.

Hope to see the PP continue to improve, need some defensive coverage as well, but it does look like Sebrango/Newpower need some time in the AHL Incubator.

I'm excited to see him play. He'll have a chip on (not IN, hopefully....) his shoulder so he may surprise us and catch a fire under his skates. Honestly, I fully expect him to be in GR....but it'll be nice to see him get some ice-time tonight. I want to see what he does.

I don’t think Newpower felt great about that GWG after he made a blind pass. Nowhere to hide when that stuff happens. Definitely Has some skating ability. Could end up being a depth guy down the line

Looks like Eichel is about to be moved. Wings are one of the very few teams that could absorb the entire cap hit. He and Larkin are very good friends. At the very least, Stevie has to be on the phone to Buffalo. I realize he's injured, but 24 year old, elite #1 centers are RARELY available by trade. Just sayin'......

Depends on cost. If he is out for most of the year, wings cannot give up this years 1st rounder.

ESPN+ needs to add some sound to the commercial breaks. It is brutal sitting in silence.

For sure, but the ability to absorb the cap hit gives the Wings a huge competitive advantage in negotiating the cost. This situation represents a rare opportunity, at least potentially.

That would be such a huge step forward (as long as his recovery was full). I just can’t imagine the cost. 3 or 4 GMs have balked again. They want 4 pieces. Some mix of first round picks/high level prospects and NHL players. They’ll be under the floor if they don’t take some money back. But yeah, it would change a lot of things to get him here
