While Eichel would be a nice addition (assuming the surgery is successful), the price, as you have laid it out, would be too high, in my opinion. This team is right at the cap and cannot afford to take on a $10 million/year player who is questionable as far as his long-term health is concerned. Even more gyrations would be needed once Eichel came off LTIR. Better to be patient and keep an eye on other potential additions. |

I don't see the Knights much, who is Jack Duggan in the organization? A top prospect? |

Dugan won the scoring title in the NCAA as a 21 year old a couple seasons ago, then put up 33 points in 37 AHL games last year in Henderson. He has the trajectory of a playmaking top 6 left wing in the NHL. |

I have a feeling the Sabres are going to fleece Vegas. Eichel has a bad attitude he will be a dark cloud over that organization. I'm all for it! |

if he doesn't have the worst body language in the league he's close .. and the outside is usually a reliable indicator of the inside so I 100% believe he's (basically) a cancer
BUT
you never know how a change of scenery can affect a person |

Hate it when people call athletes cancer.
Eichel had a soccer coach the last couple seasons.
Was obvious the guy couldn’t coach.
Hutton was the goalie.
Would love to see Eichel play for Granato… unfortunately won’t happen bc of the inept outdated Sabres medical staff pushing a fusion on a 24 y/o when they could always revert to that if the disc replacement failed. Hopefully Jack’s isn’t atrophying with the nerve being impinged this long(he did fail his last physical…and promptly stripped of the captaincy 🤦♂️)

I saw crazy one today in Sabres Mafia based on one of those Twitter guys. As a Sabres fan I would do it in a heartbeat but I know it's absolutely ridiculous so I'll give this to you for fun to laugh at.
Krebs
Tuch
Elvenes
Carrier
21&22 1st rd.
Jack will probably be out until at least the playoffs if you acquire him now so that would give you 10 million dollars in long-term injured reserve along with the other three guys salary. So you guys can go out and make other trades Tampa Bay Style using long-term injured reserve as a weapon. Obviously Alex money won't count because you just flipping one long-term injured reserve for another but that in itself is 5.25 million more you can use |

Reilly Smith (five million for the rest of the season)
Peyton Krebs
Jack Dugan
2022 Golden Knights 1st round pick
2022 New York Rangers 3rd round pick (acquired in the Reaves trade)
For
Jack Eichel
Duggan’s the 7th ranked prospect in the pipeline. I’d rather have Brisson (c) or Cormier (if he’s a RD). But could be swayed. I don’t think it’s far off. Of course I want more, but don’t see it being a reality given the over all situation.
Nice write up…
7) Jack Dugan (F)
Acquired: 2017 Entry Draft, 5th Round, #142 overall
Age: 23 (March 24, 1998)
Most Recent Team: Henderson Silver Knights (AHL)
Previous Ranking: #8
Dugan put together a very nice season in his first year in the AHL. One has to wonder when his chance will come to make the leap to the NHL, but as long as he’s a member of the Golden Knights, that’s going to be tough. Being passed up for Dylan Sikura and Tomas Jurco last year proved VGK doesn’t quite believe Dugan is ready. Maybe they will this year, assuming there’s ever a need. |

Personally I would think tuch would make more sense than Reilly smith as the NHL piece for both sides. He may be worth more but he’s a good player Buffalo can keep around for the rebuild where as smith would likely be flipped for futures. On the Vegas end they are going to need to shed some salary next year if they acquire eichel so it may be more convenient to them to keep the player whose contract is done at the end of the year.
Some rumours have floated around about Hague being a piece but I don’t see it, he’s a great player but he’s too valuable right now to a team with cup aspirations this year and Buffalo is filled with Lefty’s in their system. If a D prospect does go back RHD korczak would probably be an ideal fit.
Also it may be a hot take but I predict Brisson will be the top prospect going back. Vegas is placing extremely high value on Krebs which may make it detrimental for the rest of Buffalo’s return for him to be a part of the package. So it may be best for Buffalo to take the lesser prospect who is still a stud to sweeten the rest of the pot.
So all in all I could see a trade something like this:
Tuch
Brisson
Korczak
2021 1st
Plus perhaps another draft pick depending on negotiations. |

This possible trade has the feel of Buffalo feeling like they won the trade and a year from now Eichel is gonna put a hundred point season up. If Vegas has a good locker room leadership structure then Eichel will flourish not having to be the man running the show.
Prospects are nice in all but there is no guarantee of success.
Vegas would be getting the best player, thus pull the trigger. |

All the offers on this thread are completely laughable including yours Trevor. Vegas would be much worse off doing any of these deals. You all realize that Eichel is out this year and any of these deals devastate Vegas this year and make them completely awful. Jesus these are all so bad. There is no deal I make for Eichel at all until I see he is recovered from surgery and back healthy and playing at an elite level again. |

Acquiring Eichel would give us an elite player at the expense of upsetting the balance of the team. One or more very good players would have to be traded to get us under the salary cap with Eichel. And there's no absolute guarantee that he will be the same player (or even able to play at all) after the surgery.
I think it would make much more sense to try to pry Toews away from Chicago. They are in a rebuild (already moved Keith), and might consider trading Toews. He is an older player (33, I think) and not quite the player he once was, but he is very proficient in faceoffs (well over 55%) and is a great passer. He would cost considerably less than Eichel, would add a solid veteran presence, and would fit in well with the third line and be able to slot in on other lines, should we experience more injuries.
Less expensive than Eichel, not as spectacular, but an immediate help and a known commodity (versus Eichel's pending surgery outcome). Finally, the existing Knights team stays mostly intact.
No, I haven't proposed the details, just the thinking process. |

Why are you guys +185 in Toronto tonight? +425 at -1.5
Ill be taking that. Just look at the teams Toronto has previously faced, and measure them up to your squad. Great value on the knights tonight boys! - bikeguy99
Knights with a ton of injuries. Add Karlsson to the injury list. |
