Probably not unless he's part of a bigger trade package. Guessing that de Haan would net no higher than a 3rd.
But you never know when playoff bound teams are desperate to amp up their rosters. If the Hawks can get a 2nd, that would be a pleasant surprise. |

What’s the price for Fleury going to be at the TDL? Will he waive for a contender? |

Great game to watch with a full 60 minute hussle from the boys.
Toews was magnificent and I hope that is to be the new form for him going forwards.
The unwise deferring to Kane is always frustrating...now its Hagels turn over and over again. Reichel doesnt seem to do it, which is nice.
I´ve been watching the Ducks Goalie, Dostal, very closely the last couple of years and it isnt a stretch to say he is going to be very good if not elite. |

1st round pick, a “B” prospect, and whatever expiring cap hit garbage needed to make the $ numbers work |

* Jakub Galvas is proving to be adept at gaining the inside defensively no matter where he is in his end; he generally has solid positioning which helps to make up for his lack of size.
When I was being complementary regarding Galvas after seeing him play thursday I said he used his stride to keep pace with opponents. But Theo said in the quote above what I should have said. He used his momentum from striding with his check and "gains inside position". Good call Theo. |

I was actually impressed/shocked with Stillmans move to the front of the net, that was impressive ability for a big young dman, hoping there is some more untapped potential in this kid.

No, likely a 5th, maybe a 4th with salary retention. |

Similar to the return for Lehner. 2nd round pick, low-mid grade prospect, sub-par NHLer. |

He has decent size at 6’1” and 200 lbs. I like his game and sure he makes a mistake here and there, but all defensemen do, young and old, some more than others. |

Most contenders are up against the cap, the Hawks can retain salary on two more players this year. If Fleury is one of them, then you have one salary retention left for probably De Haan. |

For sure, they’ll be some salary retention (likely 50%) plus involving another team to take 50% of the remainder. Shaw’s contract (on LTIR) could come into play as well in this TDL. |

Stillman as (sadly) been the best return in the Florida trade. |

Although I like Stillman a lot, we are paying him heavily. $4.85M when you consider his salary plus Connolly's dead cap space that we took on in that deal. I am not including Borgstrom because I am not seeing enough from him to see the Hawks retaining him. |

Good perspectives, 6628. Another thing about Galvas is he keeps his legs moving which helps with what you pointed out.
Hagel is Exhibit A for forwards -- maybe all players -- on making good things happen all over the ice when you keep pumping your legs. |

Reichel reassigned to Rockford.
Good for the kid - got a taste, acquitted himself well, played with his childhood idol - now he will be hungrier than ever.

While I understand your logic, that’s not on Stillman, his cap hit is $1.35M for the next two seasons, that’s not bad for what he brings. |

D-men on expiring contracts tend to be overvalued at the TDL. Look what David Savard brought at the TDL last season. Would I pay a 2nd for deHaan? Not a chance but never underestimates the stupidity of GMs. |

Good. Staying with the plan. No reason to burn a year on his ELC with this team. |

Maybe if King would give Borgstrom the ice time he gives the Grenade Bunch, we would see more from Borgstrom. He and Kurashev were causing havoc last night playing on a donut line. |

Captain's best game in I don't know how long. I sure hope he's turned the corner in his recovery because playing like last night could make get the playoffs back into the realm of possibility.
I was surprised back when Galvas didn't make the opening night roster with Kalynuk and C Jones out on IR. He is clearly a much more complete NHL caliber dman than Mitchell, Boqvist or Beaudin and it's nice that they are going to have a hard time sitting him or sending him down.
Stillman is showing so much positive development that he could make a higher paid dman expendable. Who would have thunk.
I this trend of standing up for teammates. Carpie and Gus get huge attaboys. They may be marginal overall, but teams need low cost character guys. I could see keeping Gus as a 7th dman into next season. He hasn't even been a liability in the dzone. (unlike C Jones the past few games) |
