Hayes definitely would have been sought after but the Flyers threw so much money at him that it was a no brainer. He would have definitely been over paid seeing as he’s a centerman. Gaudreau will easily get 8-9 million on some crazy contract and that’s the last thing the Flyers need for another 30 yr old. So there is a 100% chance it happens.

Worst case scenario is they can dump Monohan this summer to Arizona or Detroit or Seattle or whoever is willing to take a sweetener for 1 year of Monohan.
