Jakob Chychrun's pre-conception sentiment for the city where he lived when he didn't exist aside, why would the Flyers be interested in his services? |

As confirmed by Dreger 😂🤪😂🤪 |
|
|
|
The big difference here is that Dreger's teams all make sense. Edmonton, Toronto, St.Louis are in win now mode and are likely open to trading what is likely a late 1st round pick. LA, Ottawa, and Columbus are all ambitious teams looking to compete for a playoff spot with LA and Ottawa in particular having such an abundance of young talent that they'd likely be open to trading a 1st and top prospect.
Now look at Ek's teams...a couple of them make sense. But then he has Montreal and Philly who will almost certainly be bottom 5 teams with huge lottery odds. No GM would part with a 1st. Buffalo may not be far ahead of them and would likely be a bottom 10 team. Those teams make zero sense.
If he is traded, I'll put money on Dreger's list of teams. Assuming the NHL head office doesn't veto the trade of course. |

Cooleus is right on target. The two teams that have the assets and motivation are the Kings and the Sens. Kings should be favoured. Kings can afford to be highly motivated. Their prospect base is as good as the Sens. More important, the Kings have a much softer route to the playoffs this year. Sens playoff probability is more steep..
People keep talking about the skill side of Chychrun's game. Just as important, he weighs 220 lbs and every team wants a big body to clear the traffic in front of their own net..

AZ lowered asking price to what? 1st and prospect? Well no contender has cap space so another move will have to be made as AZ isn’t taking on salary.

You can’t blame this’d kid for wanting out, he want’s to play on an NHL team in a NHL Arena. No one should be going through that mess in AZ.

The FLyers are interested because he has ties to the city, since he grew up there, right? |

AZ will take back a salary including a salary dump of a non performer. But, only after a 1st round pick and good prospect are first offered up. Not many contenders have elite prospects that they will make available (Rangers would be an exception).
But, any team trying to make their prime offer around a first or second line player is just wasting everyones time. |

Anyone remember all the articles about "why on earth would Arizona be trading Chychrun"? It was obvious to me, but it had the media pretty confused, even to the point of suggesting the NHL should step in and intervene. It's very simple...
The kid was probably honest that in 3 years he's walking as a UFA. I want to be in a winning environment. Playing for an organization that is using tricks just to meet the cap floor isn't my dream. So the organization has 3 years to trade him. Lots of time. So you start that process asking for the moon. See if someone bites. Nobody did. Now you moderate that to something more realistic.

Maybe Toronto should offer Nylander for him. Your right he wants to play for an NHL team.

Nylander is exactly the kind of player AZ is saying they don't want. They are 3 to 4 years away from being a serious team. They are fully invested in acquiring picks and prospects. They are a leading contender in the Connor Bedard sweeps. Nylander does not help accomplish any of their priorities and he would be gone long before they are actually competive. |

Flyers are a contender for the bottom 5. Watching their preseason with their second best players, i say they are heading for the bottom 3

Buyer Beware!
The only reason the Flyers make sense is because he would likely join Ellis, Couturier on LTIR For me he is a serious high risk for injury. One season does not make you as valuable as the Yotes think. If I was GM i would move him quickly.

If the leafs traded Nylander to get Chychrun they would come to regret it in big time. Just can't see this happening. What does Nylander have to do to prove he is a big part of the Leafs offence?

If AZ picked him up now he would become a trade deadline option. AZ then can grab additional drafts or prospect’s.
Nylander has one year left on contract after this season and will be asking for an increase he doesn’t deserve. Nylander needs to go to AZ and produce, he could use a taste of working hard to get out of AZ. |
