Tatar was skating with Bratt and Mercer last practice but they haven't updated what the line combos are for today.

Right into power play work today for #NJDevils:

PP1: Hamilton, Hughes, Hischier, Tatar, Palat.
PP2: Severson, Holtz, Mercer, Bratt, Haula

Apparently Shara isn't getting any powerplay time which is interesting seeing his shot is such an asset. Maybe they are looking to see what Tatar/Haula is going to bring to the table and switch them off if it doesn't work out.

Nico himself says theres still work to be done coming back and that he's day-to-day to see if he will be ready for Thursday.

No. The majority of his injuries are freak accidents that he really couldn't do anything about. This kind of stuff happens and it isn't a big deal especially since our roster depth has gotten a lot better this year too.

I'm down with these lines to start, and then we'll see how dead they all are after the first period and then we're juggling combos and trying to find offense and feeling like we have no talent and Ruff needs to be fired. Seen this movie before. But I'll be open to this not happening. I do really like what Bastian brings, but want to see Zetterlund too. I doubt Zetterlund is as good in the faceoff circle as McLeod though. We'll have injuries soon enough.

I'm more curious what the D pairings look like Thursday. Kind of waiting to see when Nemec and Bahl get swapped and Smith is inserted into the lineup.

They’re beyond distracting for me. I can’t stop staring at them waiting for them to change or what add they’re gonna show next time players skate up the ice. I’m sure I’ll get used to it, but 2 minutes of hockey and a goal just happened and I was staring at the boards the whole time -_-. Why do the powers only make things worse? It’s just terrible.

Agreed. Flyers are not looking too good. Better off having Geersten in for this one while the kid rests up. Deslaurier might be looking to make an immediate impact with his new club. Guy is an animal and our lineup doesn't have too many fella's ready for the throw-back flyers.

Would have been ideal to have that kid alongside Luke in Michigan. Hate to see a year burnt off that ELC playing in Utica. It has worked for Makar, Sanderson, Luke and Quinn Hughes. Why not let Nemec gain some confidence at that level first?

Because he doesn't want to go to college.... Lol wtf. You can't just assign a kid to a college. They need to want to enroll and go through that process, as well as go to classes(and the school needs to actually accept him and want him on top of that). Also, he won't burn a year of his ELC unless he plays in 10 NHL games this season.
