Hains: In Hainsight: DeSmith Traded
It took some time, but Kent Hughes managed to trade goaltender Casey DeSmith to the Vancouver Canucks for a roster player and a pick in the 2025 draft.

to get the pick and trade Desmith, yes, cause it just happened
I dont think Hughes wanted Pearson in a bad way, but he had to be a part of the deal
and he knows and might be able to trade him around TDL
so yeah - deadpoulet
I think it's probably because the goalie market is a bit saturated, and Hughes didn't want to wait too long to make that trade, he could've avoided getting Pearson but chose to pull the trigger now, which isn't a horrible move imho.

Frustrating.
Just when they clear up forward space by sending Pitlick and Hoffman away, they go and crowd everything up again with this trade.
Sure, nice to get another pick, but unless something else is on the horizon, this does not make sense - cap wise or roster wise.
it does

who cares about the price tag? lol - deadpoulet
that sounds like a horrible strategy, they'll at least give him a chance to see if he has anything left in the tank and if he's able to stay healthy they'll trade him at the TDL.
