If CAR gets knocked out in embarrassing fashion yet again, that is a team that needs major changes. |

They have a lot of good pieces so it will be interesting. Brind’amour broke negotiations but then went back to the table a day later. NYR just seems unstoppable right now |

Canes have a boatload of UFA's to deal with, so they could be a very different team come next year. Necas may also be on the move and a new goalie may be a Cane also.
Pesce could end up on an over-priced deal on a new team. I don't understand why they let so many go to the last minute for contracts.....They could have a mass exodus!!! |

Carolina is fine from a cap perspective. They will likely let Teravainen walk which opens $5.4M of cap space. So Guentzel could resign for a big raise. Necas and Jarvis are RFAs so can be qualified or sign bridge deals. They probably choose between Skjei or Pesce. Chatfield can likely step into a larger role. |

Quick note. Lyon got cut by a skate in Us vs Latvia. Augustine stepped in and had a good showing. US team won 6-1 over Germany. Starting to wonder if Augustine may be getting a look at starting pro sooner than thought. The one person Ive heard from with knowledge about the situation still thinks another year in college.

Has anyone heard if DeAngelo is being viewed more favorably (or Kuznetsov for that matter) in terms of locker room issues? |

Pesce fascinates me because it was rumored that during Nylanders holdout Toronto looked at swapping his rights for the Dman. Hamilton was supposedly offered. Now Nylander seems to be a more mature and important part of the team on TOR

No clue what NIL looks like but I’d definitely play another year at college over ending up in Toledo. |

That seems to be the consensus. State had a terrific run this year and it’s got to be fun to get some NCAA hardware for the mantle |

Tronno, 'Canes, Bolts....these teams will be vastly different, if not for Cap concerns but for team accomplishments/missed expectations. Even with Keefe gone, I feel like the 40% in 4 players experiment has reached the point where it can be termed an abject failure.
As a Canes fan, I just don't see them able to improve the team and retain thier roster as-is. Have to wonder if RB may be reaching a point where leadership/owners are going to call into question his coaching style, not saying he's on the hot-seat because I don't know that anyone in theeast can handle to NYR...think the soon-to-be series between NYR & FLA (assuming a lot here, I know...) will be one for the ages.
I think the landscape of several teams will be remarkably different come camp this fall. Many teams are cap-strapped, many teams can't continue to play the way they have been because opponents are adjusting & finding weaknesses..... Oh, the times, they are a-changin'..... |

Big Canes fan, here (NO TEAM supplants The Wings, mind you...) and can heartily agree with your statement. RB is respected, but the word is his bag of tricks needs to get bigger & better....quickly. He's not going to be fired, at least not yet. But....he's feeling the heat.
Face it; no one will remain in their position forever. Bowman went to how many teams? The days of Toe Blake-like permanence are long gone.... The Cap's had a profound impact, to be sure. But coaches have got to adjust their game plans on the fly. It seems like that ability has been lost....for now.
