Very cool interview... it's nice to get some insight straight from the players I get to see play in GR. In a year or two Detroit is going to have the envy from a lot of other NHL fans because they will have a very deep defense corp. Sandin-Pellika will probably be able to jump straight to the NHL... With Wallinder, Tuomisto and Buium coming up right behind him eventually. I think all of them have an excellent shot at being NHL players. Tuomisto has really caught my attention lately... With his size and passing / playmaking skills he's really stood out the last couple months. He just needs to fill out a little more on that 6'5" frame. But we'll see...
My biggest growing concern is getting a top tier center for the second line. If Larkin goes down it really hurts the team. I'm really curious to see if Yzerman does anything before the trade deadline. I just don't see Yzerman parting with any of the top prospects since this team is coming out of the rebuild and turning the corner. The team needs to keep it's talented youth. I could see him moving Berggren, veterans, and maybe draft picks. |
