I have 20 guys in a make the cut parlay.

People forget the field is a lot smaller for the masters and they only cut about 30 people. I think the field is 96 and t60 make the weekend. Half the guys going home will be the old past champions and a bunch of amateurs.

I only caught the bottom of the 8tb on but they were not good consistent on balls and strikes in the bit I watched at all.

The pitcher who the Jays brought in after Garcia struggled and hit 2 guys in the 10th.

You can't afford to have Tavares still on the books (even without a Stamkos contract) if you dream of McDavid becoming a UFA and signing with Toronto for whatever the max contract (16-17 AAV?) is at the time.

Leafs will have 27.4 AAV (if they don't dump bad contracts like Kampf and Jarnkrok) in cap space for 25/26.

IF...

Knies 4 years @ 6.5 AAV
Tavares 5 years @ 5.5 AAV

In that type of scenario, the Leafs have about 2 million to re-sign depth players.

Then, in 26/27, the Leafs would have 18 million AAV in space. If McDavid makes something like 16 AAV, you only have 2 AAV left to sign a goalie and bottom-sixers.

Even at 5.5 AAV, signing Tavares makes it next to impossible to sign McDavid and still have enough room to sign quality depth players unless you trade Rielly.

This Blake Smith kid the Leafs signed is a good low risk, high reward prospect. Never drafted, fought his way through from Oshawa to the OHL.

He's 6'5", 225, LHD, can skate pretty well and he's related to Keith Primeau and Wayne Primeau so he comes from a solid hockey family.
