Twitter is thinking about a user fee seeing advertising is way down. That will be a death sentence to the site. - VANTEL
It's an incredibly basic application. Someone will replace it immediately if that's the case. |

I deleted my twitter not to long ago and havent missed it. It was nice cause you could choose who to follow. Then they started doing "promoted" tweets and I sort of lost interest in seeing a bunch of poop I didnt want to. It truly is liberating to "disconnect" from all the negativity that is social media. It's been a fantastic 5 months for me - Codes1087
It has gotten pretty stupid on there. I look at it a lot less and have cut about 75% of the people I use to follow.
Try to stick to hockey mostly on there from insiders.
It has become funny , there are about 50 big mouth Canucks fans on there and 40 of them have podcasts . Everyone has now become an expert. People trying to suck you into paying to hear what they think as they watch games at home. |

Yeah it won't take long for it to be replaced. Once sites go behind firewalls they kill the business. |

Depends if they offer legitimate services but yes I generally agree. I'm always amazed how something like Twitter can be valued at 10's of billions.
Hopefully Don can explain the economics to me. |

I'd assume they go the way that other "premium" free services have when they offered a pay component: no adds, extra perks if you pay.
They keep their free base, just as a little more for revenue sake. |

No idea. When was the last one? 2 days ago?
Jets game on the 29th, so I would guess one more. When do they need to report to EDM? |

Seems like a waste of the effort. People want to tweet and reach as many people as possible. Paywalls will have a small group. |

Wouldn't be a pay wall. Would be two different options:
Free: everything stays the same. You still see ads, promoted tweets, etc.
Pay a monthly fee: No ads, you get free promoted tweets, fancy banner, whatever.
Much like Ek has the subscription with no ads, but this site is still free. If you want more, you can pay for it, otherwise it can still be free. |

The Canucks are scheduled to travel to Edmonton on Sunday, July 26.
Guessing they'll have one more game, probably tonight? |

I stopped using Twitter but I think I'll just delete most of the Canucks stuff and go back to using it for fishing and music.

Not a jab at you whatsoever, but I honestly felt like I wasted time reading that. That "expert" is using peak numbers when there was little to no preventative measures or lockdowns vs now, when they have been able to bed the curve, and hes making up some theory without any fact that it would disappear completely without a vaccine.
I get that we all want this to go away, and sooner the better, and I admire your optimism, I just dont see that "experts" level as being rational.
I however am optimistic because modern medicine is a lovely thing. The vaccine clinical testing is yielding tremendous antibody responses. Long term affects and mass production will be the next hurdles but I trust they will get a good vaccine done before summer 2021 and hopefully be made available to the public by 2022 |

You are projecting again.
You are also dismissing someone who is the head of infectious diseases divisions at two major universities, chair of the Critical III study group of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases and was educated in his profession at Yale.
What do you know about this part below? I dont know what to think of it but pretending he doesnt know what he is talking about is kind of dumb. I'm sure he knows a hell of a lot more than hospital staff.
"In March and April, people were coming to the emergency unit with a difficulty to manage the illness as most of them needed oxygen and ventilation," the professor said.
"Now, in the past four weeks, patterns have changed and there could be lower viral load in the respiration system probably due to a genetic mutation in the virus which has not yet been demonstrated scientifically," he added.
He said patients who could have died of the disease two months ago were recovering.

Again, it's a matter of opinion. You posted an article, I read it and formed my own. I'm not trying to convince you, so stop trying to convince me. You posted an article to me to read, I read it, and gave you the respect you deserved, I'd appreciate the same

I'm not trying to convince you.... there you go with the projection and rubber stamp comments again. I asked you what you think of it? Don't be hurt that I think he knows more than you. Thats just a fact. Please tell me what you know about the illness losing severity in older people in Italy which has the highest number of elderly per capita in all of Europe?

Booner I'm not going to have this conversation with you. It's going in a direction that isnt what this forum is intended for. I'll end it with, I appreciate your optimism and have no issue with you reading and believing whatever you want to believe. You do you and let me do me? |

The Ek blog is about the most underrated Canucks. Leivo and Stetcher.
I'd put Motte ahead of those two.
