I don’t like Karlsson for a number of reasons like his age and lack of defensive play in his own end but the way I look at it is we have guys, esp now with Fox that are younger, better in their own end and can still move the puck. Are any of them close to Karlsson offensively? No. But can ADA/Fox/Skjei be 35-45 point guys? Yes. Karlsson is going to start declining, his goals have already drastically declined and soon his point totals will do the same. We would be paying for a 25 year old version of a 30 year old.

Finished a +1 last night with 2:30 of PK time, 2 hits, 1 block and 1 take away. He plays defense.

Malkin was awful this year. But He’s not declining? Then you’d have to sign him for 8 yrs after this contract. Makes sense to give up a shyt ton of assets for the same thing

As a canes fan I’m more than happy with the return, I was hoping we’d be able to snag at least a 3rd from NYR as he was going there the whole time

Hey, it's still fun to talk about what ifs and some crazy scenarios. I welcome it because you never know what might actually happen. Teams do crazy poop. We also have literally nothing else to talk about.

Does it make any sense for the Rangers to go after Kapanen in a trade? He is a young, skilled forward who is a RFA in Toronto. Maple Leafs have the well-documented cap issues. If we draft Kakko 2nd overall, do you think it will help ease his transition to NY by having a fellow countryman already on the roster?

Plus you get the added bonus of driving Sam Rosen nuts during telecasts:

"Kakko to Kreider to Kravtsov to Kapanen ------ ITS A POWER PLAY GOAL!"

Maybe he'll stroke out and Brian Peppers will take over.

Well considering the Hubble telescope can see things 10-15 billion lightyears away I'm sure it can pickup something two inches long that exists in the galaxy it orbits in
