Colorado is already a cup threat without Kuemper.

Colorado is fine with the Grubs as he leads the league in wins with 7, .934S% and 2 Shutouts. He hasnt been below .916 S% ever. In 19 playoff games with the Avs he has 12 wins and S% over .922 and GAA of 2.19. So how better can Kuemper be than that. Grubs just got injured at the wrong time last year.

I like how we already have intricate details of the trade offers on the table. Including this random tidbit about Detroit moving Gagner to NYR or Columbus. What does Detroit moving Gagner's $850K cap hit to another team have to do with the Oilers clearing cap space? Unless you think Gagner still plays for the Oilers. Confusing.

Also, why exactly does Colorado need Kuemper? Grubauer and Francouz was one of the best duos in the NHL last year. During the playoffs, Grubauer went 5-0-1 with a 1.87 GAA and .922 SV%. Unfortunately he got hurt. Francouz came in and also got hurt. If they stayed healthy they likely would have won the Cup, or came very close. But you want them to acquire Kuemper, despite Colorado having $0 cap space. Okay.

Don’t see Leafs making that deal. What happens when Campbell comes back? Unless you think that the Leafs are swapping out Campbell for Kuemper...

Exactly!!

I think Kuemper could conceivably go to Carolina......but Reimer's gret play right now is putting that on hold. The Canes may make a minor trade for a capable back-up instead. And Toronto has been good in goal so far this year. Andersen is truly playing for his next contract!
Edmonton can surely use Kuemper....but Smith complicates that process. Maybe the Yotes take Kuhun and a 2022 2nd for Kuemper??? Yotes probably would take Kahun + a 2022 1st, but is Holland that desparate?? then there is that pesky cap issue

Looking at the Oiler's cap, they would have to trade $3M salary back to the Yotes to make a trade for Kuemper......Kassian and a 2nd????/?

I just hope he wears those ugly Coyotes-themed pads with his new team. They would look great with Edmonton's orange unis.

Kuemper sweeps?

Is this going to be like the past Marner Offer sheet sweeps you promised? Or the Perron sweeps? Pouliot sweeps? Tanguay sweeps? Schultz sweeps? Exciting!

So who should be?

Toronto and Colorado.

Both become Cup threats with Kuemper.

How would Toronto be able to add Kuemper 4.5 mil cap hit to a salary cap challenged team? Is Anderson going the other way?

Maybe the argument is the Oilers send someone ELSE to Detroit to create cap space for the Oilers to add Kuemper. But this requires the Wings to move Gagner first. Unfortunately that argument makes no sense...Detroit already has like $6M of empty cap space, so moving Gagner's $850,000 is totally unnecessary. Not to mention they can just waive Gagner and he is 100% off the books. But this isn't Ek's idea. He just reports what his sources are saying. Although if it was me I'd be asking the source what does moving Gagner have to do with this?? Explain it to me so I can report this accurately.

Edmonton and Carolina would be wise to try to make this move. Carolina is skating by with Reimer along with some smoke and mirrors at the moment while Edmonton's goalie situation is a revolving dumpster fire.

They would have to send Anderson back, and Arizona would have to hold like 500k in Salaray or something wouldn't they? haven't been following cap talks but I know they're up there

would have to be Anderson +
