Whether winning the Cup or not in 2019, the 2018/19 Blues best represent why some teams should never begin to sell very early when appearing to be done for the season. A coaching change supplemented by one big move in making a prized rookie goalie in Binnington become their #1 starter, was the key to returning from dead last in the NHL in January, to now being just one win away from the franchise's first Cup win.

After Game 5's win, Binnington became the 5th NHL rookie goalie to win at least 15 postseason games in his rookie season in matching Patrick Roy (1986), Ron Hextall (1987), Cam Ward (2006), and Matt Murray (2016). Of those other four, only Hextall did not end up winning a Stanley Cup in their respective rookie season.

Really? Each player has 100 people asking for tickets? Nice exaggeration. Teams know this is a distraction and arrange most of the logistics. I know Jordan Nolan when he won the Cup with the Kings. He gave the team his list of 6 people. Then texted those 6 people to contact "Joanne" at the Kings office. She coordinated travel and tickets while Jordan took his afternoon nap. Not that complicated.

Referees put away their whistles throughout the whole game in protest to all the media complaints of their poor performances, game turns into a bloodbath ala Slapshot, with Ryan O'reilly stripping his equipment off until naked to streak/dance in protest to the violence, all to the song Gloria. Game ends in a tie, with both teams deciding they should all have their names engraved on the cup with hugs all around.

Blues come out like a house of fire. Rask holds them in. Bruins score 3 power play goals and win 4-1. Refs will be trying their best to even up their non call in Game 5. Ek blames Berube the next day for not having his team ready to play Game 6.

I can recall Mike in Basement wanting the Leafs to trade for Pietrangelo and Parayko for peanuts back in November. The Blues turnaround is amazing.

Next article will be how it would suck to win the lottery...the Blues are in a position every team would want to be in....including the Bruins

I’d like to see the Blues get their 1st, but I’ve got this nagging suspicion the Bruins pull this whole thing out.

I'd imagine the Blues have a few people who can make those arrangements. Just write the names down and give it to them. The (frank).

Hey Ek. Can you list the 12 times that you were on the ice celebrating with the Cup? Not just in the building, but on the ice. Thanks.
