Why? Gaudreau proved that he’s not a playoff performer, much too soft. Hall was league MVP for a reason. He’s the far superior player. |

Sure.
To Calg: Hall
To NJ: Gaudreau and Lindholm - bikeguy99
You’re not even close |

I would have a stroke if this actually happened, taylor hall yes a great talent, he really is....I think the flames ditching johnny when his prime should be here any minute now a colossal error! - Donovan
He’s a chump. You don’t win in the playoffs with players like that. |

Ya......makes perfect sense....
27 year old Hall (.91 ppg) who gets hurt a lot (averages 62 games per year) and is going to be a UFA and if an extension is negotiated before the trade will definitely be in the $10 mill range for 25 year old Gaudreau (.98 ppg) in a STEAL of a contract for 3 more years for $6.75 mill.
Yes hall is from Calgary gaudreau is from NJ but this trade does not make the flames better at all. it’s a definite step backwards. Unless the deal also has a hischer for backlund component to it (no way NJ does this) flames need to walk away IMMEDIATELY. - kresco

I'd do it in a heart beat.
That 6.75 AAV for Gaudreau is gonna be a steal over the next three years and you're getting the prime years whereas Hall is gonna have a bigger AAV that's definitely going to go into his decline years. That being said, unless there's some type of bad blood, or perhaps more pieces involved here, I don't see why Calgary would do this. - jersey1414
There's a little bit of bad blood over the last contract. Gaudreau was criminally underpaid from day one of his contract, and it's gotten worse ever since. The Flames know it's going to take something ridiculous like 13-14 million a year to get Gaudreau to stay.
A trade might be inevitable, but it's not going to happen this year for someone who's only under contract for another year. Gaudreau has one of the best contracts in the league, and the only way a Gaudreau for Hall trade makes sense for the Flames this year is if Hischier is also involved.

This thread is hilarious!!! All of the Flames fans that were all pissed off and wanting to trade Gaudreau after he didn’t show up for the playoffs, now think he’s worth more than the league MVP? |

Well, he's an all-star signed for 3 more years at a great cap hit of 6.75M and Hall is a pending a UFA after this upcoming season so while I prefer Hall as a player, Gaudreau's value should be higher due to their contracts. |

No one was mad at Gaudreau after the playoffs. He was fine in the playoffs and generating chances at pretty much the same clip he was during the regular season. It was the other two chumps on his line that didn't show up.
He's also scored more points than Hall in 4 of his 5 seasons, and had a better year last year than Hall did in his MVP season. So yeah, he's worth more. |

South Jersey is Flyers territory. Everyone knows Gadreau grew up a Flyers fan and will be taking a pay cut to play in Philly once he hits UFA. Bobby Ryan 2.0 |

If there's any truth to the rumour, it's probably just setting things up for the Flames to bring in Hall at the deadline. |

I guess if Johnny had his 2018/19 season in 2017/18, he would have been nominated and possibly won considering he had a better season last year than Taylor did in his MVP season.
No chance I'm trading Gaudreau for Hall, regardless of the Hart trophy Hall has. |

Should have been Hall + 1st overall pick for Johnny + 26th overall + Brodie.
I was saying this WEEKS before the draft. Lets Johnny goes home and Taylor to also come home to play. Hall is at least a bigger player, and that's what we needed in the playoffs this year. |

Hall's Hart win was silly. Using the logic the voters used that year, Gretzky never should have won the Hart. McDavid was clearly the better player, had a better year, and played on a clearly worse team. Giroux, Malkin, and Kucherov all had better years than Hall as well if the playoffs are important to you.
I honestly think the voters couldn't help themselves with how much it would suck for Edmonton to see Hall win the Hart. |
