The Leafs already made up their minds internally. That was a hard deadline. Now there is too much bad blood and they will have to trade him for pennies on the dollar.

@stammerman - if Marner signs with term for 9-10 mil/season I think all of Leafs nation will be happy.

8 years 9.75 per would be wonderful. Not sure that's how it's going to play out though.

Not even close for 8 years. He would want 3 million MORE than that. For just 5-6 years he will want 10+...and 7 or 8 years will drive that up by a million or two a year. (something like 7 years at 11.5, 8 years at 13).
