Carol Schram: Canucks' weekend rewind from 2004 & 2011, Greatest Moments voting now open After a weekend that gave Canucks fans the opportunity to re-live first-round Game 7s from 2004 and 2011, the NHL has started a look back at the 2019-20 season with its "Greatest Moments...So Far" bracket open for fan voting.

Ironically I had INXS' Kick spinning on vinyl yesterday as I was doing stuff around the house. Excellent album.

Thx Carol

I’m too out of touch of late & just don’t have much interest in sports with all that’s happening. Still working on getting back to day time hours has been a challenge. Lol

Thanks from the end of the last thread...

quote=YeOldTimer]Better yet, force Loui to agree to terminate his contact after his next signing bonus is paid. (Gentlemen's Agreement, or threat of Utica followed by loans to various other organizations, or whatever)

Save the compliance buyout and do a reciprocating deal with some other team where you trade and then re-sign Myers post-buyout like Washington did with Brooks Orpik. Canucks would use their buyout on whoever the other team sends back in exchange for Myers.

Could free up about $10MM to $11MM in cap space for a couple of years. More importantly, you'd be freeing up $4MM - $5MM in years 3-5 of Myers' contract and he'd be more movable or easier to be bought out again down the road as he declines.

Not sure what the motivation is for teams to trade each others players they then will compliance buy out.

Myers is a popular target because he has the biggest AAV plus longest term. But he's bringing value to the team. That analysis by the Athletic article lays it out.

By years 3-5 all the other fat vet contracts will be gone and Canucks will have a lot ELC's So is all that Myers' finessing really necessary?

BTW, I've invited Retinalz, but if there's anyone on here that plays/wants to play D&D while we're stuck indoors, let me know via PM, I've started a FB group for people who want to play.

Hardly saw any hockey the past 8 weeks let alone the stoppage cutting out games. Saw parts of maybe 3-4 games. Stats yes but not really any clue what really was going on.

We'd chat on an FB group, but we're thinking of using Discord to share maps and voice chat for actual game play

You know the guys you beat up in junior high... it's what they played.

Disclaimer - I used to play it and still have my player's handbook.

The article from the Athletic starts it's bit on Myers with a disclaimer on his salary. Nowhere does it remotely suggest the signing is good value.
