Hope not. I would much prefer Rossi, Sanderson, Drysdale or Raymond (in that order).

After last year’s draft, i can’t even guess at this point. Stevie Y has done extensive scouting and could well pull out a name most of us haven’t even considered. The man is a secret agent...

This will likely be the first year I won’t be making some sort of mock draft because I have no idea which way Detroit goes at 4.

I myself had perfetti going 6-9 up until about a month ago. Between then and now many lists including bob Mckenzie’s have him moved up as high as 5. As well sportsnet and other media have been linking him to Detroit.

Personally I think him and Rossi are pretty similar with the difference being that Rossi close to nhl ready, but given the wings will likely suck for at least the next 2 years anyway I don’t see that as a deciding factor.

The criticism of perfetti is that some don’t believe he can be a center in the NHL. In my opinion he has been getting comparisons to Nick Suzuki who I think can play C and the extra 2 years working with wings development at the junior level will prove those critics wrong.

Nicely done! It’s amazing to watch these kids grow. So much depends on good development. Get that kid tons of reps at center and they can come around.

I am hoping for Rossi, just because he is closer to NHL ready and I wanna see some new faces sooner......but I can't complain on WiserMan picking Perfetti or Drysdale or even (drum roll) Sanderson. Sanderson because of a lack of LD in the system. Sanderson has actually been climing in the mock drafts lately and some have him at #4. He also has good size and great skating ability.

I don’t mind the scouting reports on Sanderson, I just have major concerns about how he went from projected mid 1st to potential top 5 without playing minute of hockey over the last few months. I would have these same concerns about perfetti if his production wasn’t on par with what current superstars had in their draft year. As well even with Seider, Hronek, and tuomisto, if you want to go with a D and drysdale’s there you take him. The guy has cale makar upside.

Watching Sanderson play, he reminds me a lot of a left handed Seider. Some comparison that people use for his game is Jaccob Slavin.

Rossi is my number 1 choice if Byfield and Stutzle are gone by 4 though but i do like the thought of another Seider (Sanderson) added to the blueline. You put Sanderson and Seider on different pairs and you could have a solid dman on the ice for 50+ minutes every game or if need be together at the end of a game to protect a lead.

Personally i don't think Drysdale has that kind of offensive potential at the NHL level.

Also you forgot Lindstrom on the right side for the Wings since he finished what was left of the shorten season playing for the Wings.

I’ll be the first to admit I have a bit of a bias when it comes to drysdale after the limited time I got to see him at the juniors.

Lindstrom looked pretty good in his showing as well, I was just starting with who I thought were the top 3 wings prospects on RD

Don't get me wrong, it's not like i dislike Drysdale or anything and i think he has the potential to become a very good NHL defenseman. I won't be mad if the Wings draft him but i would still prefer Rossi personally followed by Sanderson. Drysdale and Raymond just don't really fill a need. Perfetti fills a need but i'm just not high on him for some reason and would not be as happy if he was their choice over Rossi.

If they pick Askarov i'm going to be pissed...picking a goalie (even one as highly rated as him) to me would be a giant waste of a draft pick and a gamble the Wings can't afford to take with that pick.

The 4-8 ranked guys are all really solid and it’s anyone’s guess as to which order they go.

I do agree askarov should not go in the top 5, perhaps even the top 10 although I wouldn’t be shocked to see Chicago, Montreal or buffalo to make that selection. My guess he’s probably going to get selected around 15 give or take 3 spots. Fans of teams selecting in the top 10 are lucky he had a crap world juniors otherwise he may have been considered a lock for top 10

I just hope that whoever the Wings pick doesn't end up a bust or one of the guys that never lives up to his potential and draft position. Even if this draft looks stacked in the top 10, you know there will be at least one or two guys (or more) that end up in that category 5 to 10 years from now.

I was very surprised by the Wings picking Seider last year but i love that pick right now so hopefully even if they don't pick who i really want, they pick someone that can be a difference maker for this team in the near future...they sure as hell need it.

What is the most suitable and exciting team in play for Alexis Lafreniere? — @alehtonen

The best story is the Montreal Canadiens getting to select Lafreniere with the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, keeping the forward prospect in his home province. That’s the Hallmark story, and it would be an amazing consolation prize for the Canadiens if they lose to the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Stanley Cup Qualifiers and then win the Second Phase of the NHL Draft Lottery. Montreal has not had the No. 1 pick in the NHL Draft since 1980, when it selected Doug Wickenheiser. The Canadiens could have had Quebec native Denis Savard or Paul Coffey. Lafreniere going to Montreal would be the biggest story of the 2020 draft. It’s too bad he’s not a center, because that’s where the Canadiens have a real need, but getting the chance to have a potential generational talent on the wing would be among the most significant developments for Montreal in a long time.

Just a tidbit from another site I thought interesting
