Cancel culture is the answer. Just do not respond to any of it; no better approach.

I do have some trouble staying away from challenging nonsense. I do feel there is some utility to that. Its possible I am wrong.

But anyway, agreed to request.

I leave it to Capt. EO to draw line specifically of where that gets from acceptable off-topic discussion to a thread hijack.

I personally prefer no political debate on Flyers threads. However, with this week being general election vote/tabulation, I think it's OK within reason so long as it doesn't devolve to where tighter moderation is called for. Year round, I am fine with non-hockey sports discussion, entertainment (music, movies, etc). Politics is a dangerous rabbit hole to go down, in my opinion.

Thank you, Bill, for keeping your blog going every day, even when there's little hockey to talk about. Like I've said before, you're doing yeoman's work here.

Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will Be Done.

So all, if Frost breaks into roster, and Patrick is back to say 2018 form, then where does former play?

It seems like a guy like Frost needs talented wingers. He is going to center NAK and Raffl? That seems like it plays to his disadvantages and wastes his strengths.

In that scenario he probably starts on the wing.

I think that bridge will be crossed when/ if we get there.

Frost is pretty versatile, can line up at all three forward positions and be effective.

I see him working his way up the lineup pretty quickly.

Exactly. A rookie still has to earn his line mates and playing time.

It wont hijack anything if you and others show some self control and don't respond. Sadly many have no self control. Banning him isn't the answer.

I assume you mean LW.

Which line? That would mean a scramble.

I assume he at least starts somewhere other than 1LW.

If he goes to 2LW, then one of Oscar/JVR goes down to 4LW. I would assume its JVR then.

JVR does not have a 4th line game. He is a borderline liability there, and he is not a physical enough guy to create his own chances. He is the opposite of NAK: little vim-n-vigor, great skill.

Its really the same problem, just shifted elsewhere in the lineup because of an initial mismatch between player and position.

Where is Laughton in your scenario? Would he not take his wing spot and have Laughton on 4C?

Where did Roo start his NHL career? Did not seem it shimmied him a bit.

I envision Frost being the team's leading scorer in 2-3 years.

Carter and Richards also started on the 4th line at the NHL level.

I know TommyHawk said he can play all 3 spots. I honestly don't know which wing he has favored in his past. I thought LW because he is a leftie.

Current LW candidates: Giroux, Oskar, JVR, Laughton.

By elimination, someone has to move down to 4LW.

Wasn't it 3C?

More generally, Oskar, JVR, Giroux are all signed for a few years. I don't mean necessarily first 20 games. I mean at least intermediate term. Which line suits his strengths and weaknesses best?

I’m not sure what the complete roster looks like with all healthy and him making the team but I envisioned Laughton at 4C.

Giroux started at 3RW. IIRC Asham was one of his wingers. I forget who was his C, it might have been Richie.

Edit: nvm, think that was the following year. Forgot about his emergency call-up. He started at 4RW.
