I have no idea what is being said, but there’s our guy!

Detroit is looking for a 2nd straight win, and another Detroit prospect just gave Frolunda their second straight. Frolunda beat Lulea 2-1 today, and the game winner came from Detroit prospect Elmer Soderblom.

The big winger got a bump in ice time (8:32 up from 6:00) and made it count. He only had 1 SOG, and obviously made that count as well. You can see the highlights if you go to the article. If you don’t have a translator, no worries. Just scroll down to the video. At the 1:30 mark you’ll see Edvinsson save a goal with some smart play in the crease. Soderblom’s tally (assist by Edvinsson) came with 5:49 left in the third. Edvinsson made a nice backhand pass under pression and Soderblom ripped a shot from between the lower dots, top corner.

Simon Edvinsson’s ice time was cut again down to 15:59, but he had a season high 3 shots on goal, one of which was an assist on the GWG, and finished as a +1. He’s now a combined +3 after three games, and continues to perform well even with reduced ice time. Hopefully today’s performance will see him back in the coach’s good graces. He has 2 assists in 3 games.

Check back after the prospects game tonight and I’ll have some post game thoughts.
