Last day of the NHL regular season. Then the quest for Lord Stanley's Cup is on.
Playoff picture is all set, as of press time only two series dates have been confirmed, both in the west, both on Saturday.

Canadian content for the playoffs, Leafs vs Senators, Capitals vs Habs, Kings vs Oilers and Jets vs Blues. Sportsnet will be happy about that.

Thursday in the NHL there are seven games to finish off the 2024-25 campaign.

Leafs host Detroit, Toronto is 2-1-0 against the Wings this season. The blue and white shorts have gone 1-2-1 in their last 4 at home against the winged wheel.

Detroit has won three straight, scoring 15 goals. After a win on Feb 25, Red Wings were sitting in wild card one. Then they went 3-11-0 in the following four weeks and said goodbye to their playoff hopes. They also used five different goalies this season. This is the ninth straight season, Detroit has missed the playoffs, and they haven't won a post season series since 2013.
Woll has faced Detroit just twice in his career, and both of those games were in December (1-1-0). Knies needs 1 goal to hit 30 on the season, which will double his output of last season. He has one career goal against the Wings in 6 games.

Tomorrow I will set up the Leafs and Senators series.
