Habs and Isles Trying to Get Back in on Duchene...Preds Out

Talking to sources it appears most are looking at today as a kind of "reset" on the Duchene situation.

Nashville is apparently backing away from the Duchene situation and Montreal and the Islanders are trying to get back in by getting Sakic to change what he is considering for the deal. Both teams are hoping Sakic's need to end this situation can somehow outweigh his asking price of including a top defenseman in the package...something neither Montreal or the Islanders can do at this point.

Meanwhile Colorado has continued talks with Columbus and also contacted other teams, including Carolina and Philly, trying to get one of their D prospects...

Also, there are a few frustrated teams who feel Colorado's lack of leadership from ownership is hurting this situation and allowing Sakic to essentially take his time even though the situation continues to grow more and more tenuous...
