National Hockey League and the commissioner Gary Bettman has confirmed the talks that in 2019./2020 they will have their own technology that will provide the tracking of the puck and player movements on the ice. The first rumors have swirled around that amongst those being considered is a company called ''PlayGineering Systems'' based in Latvia.

The company representatives have confirmed that they are amongst those that are considered amongst those that could deliver the technology.

"Yes, we have been named amongst the potential partners of the NHL which also means that it's believable that ''PlayGineering'' technology could be the one to build on and develop the NHL's own product. Right now we're in negotiating stages with many sides involved.'' Richard Formats - the co-founder of PlayGineering told ''Labs of Latvia''

The NHL Senior Vice President David Lehanski who is responsible for business development and international partnerships had already noted to Sports Business Journal that since 2017 the league had already talked with multiple potential technology developers.

That certainly had given the signal that the league won't be working on the tracking system by themselves.

PlayGineering provides the best technology for the real-time data generation and a unique video merging technology. Player and ball/puck tracking provides complete statistics and analytics of the game. Coaches can use the heat maps (data visualizations), telestrator (drawing on video) and other functions to analyze combinations, strategies and player performance on a tablet PC.

The company has already worked with many high profile clients which include IIHF for their many levels of World Hockey Championships, starting with u-18 all the way to Elite Division.
