Long story short - Maxime Comtois was the Captain of Team Canada u-20 at the 2019 World Junior Championships. He was also a target of cyber bullying because of his on ice perfomance.

Player was subject to lots of discussion regarding his on-ice action and was even ''dragged'' by a Russian player Klim Kostin who was very angry with player ''constantly diving''.

Here is what Kostin had to say:

Canada lost to Russia in that game meaning that they would meet Finland in the quarter-finals.
Fans were mad as it is but ultimately they got even more annoyed when during OT in the game against Finns a penalty shot was designated for Canada and of course, the head coach decided to send out the captain... who failed to score.

Moments later Canada failed to capitalize on an offensive attempt and the things got even worse - Finland scored and advanced to semi-finals.

And that is when things went super south. Some Canadian fans decided to take players Instagram and leave horrible comments on players profile eventually forcing him to deactivate commenting option.

That is when Comtois' reps decided to speak up about the situation releasing a single statement.
