Every article, I try to include a poll question for readers to vote on, then review the results from the week’s polls every weekend. Here are this week’s poll results, which focus on adding a goalie in the offseason, and my thoughts on how they turned out.
QUESTION: Will the Sharks add a goalie in the offseason who can either split time with Martin Jones or take over the starting job?
(Votes: 56)
Yes: 77%
No: 23%
Considering how deep the goaltending market is, along with the fact that goaltending was an issue this year, I sure hope the Sharks make a move. I doubt they’ll add a legitimate starter, but instead a short-term solution, like one of the two goalies listed below.
QUESTION: Would you be in favour of the Sharks signing Thomas Greiss in free agency?
(Votes: 95)
Yes: 67%
No: 33%
Like the results here suggest, I think signing Greiss would be a big win for the Sharks. He’s had two solid seasons in a row and is able to play a high number of games, which works well when Martin Jones is the team’s starter.
QUESTION: Would you be in favour of the Sharks signing Cam Talbot in free agency?
(Votes: 82)
No: 56%
Yes: 44%
Like I said in the article, I’m definitely pulling for the Sharks to go after Greiss rather than Talbot, but I wouldn’t mind seeing Talbot signed. That said, I can understand the mixed reactions here, based on his inconsistency from season to season.
