The San Jose Sharks announced yesterday that they’ve made more additions to their Hockey Operations staff.
Notably, they’ve added Dominik Zrim, the founder of CapFriendly.com, as the organization’s Director of Salary Cap Management and CBA Compliance. The Sharks also brought in A.J. Bernstein as their Hockey Analytics Coordinator, Martin Uhnak as a European Scout, Cody Ward as an Assistant Video Coach and Brian Ganz as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach.
The team also signed defenseman Scott Harrington a one-year contract on Friday, which carries a $750,000 cap hit.
Harrington is 29 years old and spent the majority of this past season with the AHL’s Cleveland Monsters. He’s played 210 career NHL games, most of which came with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Harrington had been with the Sharks through training camp and the preseason on a professional tryout.
It’ll be interesting to see how Harrington plays a role with the Sharks’ defense group. Considering he’s making the trip to Germany, it seems like there’s a good chance he’ll end up as a spare on the roster.
