The 2023 NHL Trade Deadline is one week away (March 3), and the Vancouver Canucks need to be watched closely. They already traded former captain Bo Horvat to the New York Islanders last month, and more moves are expected to be on the way.

One of their biggest trade targets is veteran defenseman, Luke Schenn. The 33-year-old was recently scratched for trade-related reasons, so a move appears to be imminent.

Schenn has been one of the few bright spots for Vancouver this season, and his market is starting to heat up because of it. In 55 games played this campaign, the Saskatoon native has three goals, 21 points, 258 hits, and a plus-9 rating. He also carries an affordable $850,000 cap hit, so that also naturally raises his trade value.

Schenn's suitors are starting to increase noticeably, and this should only continue as we inch closer to deadline day. Here are the many clubs confirmed to be in on the Schenn sweepstakes:

Boston Bruins
Calgary Flames
Colorado Avalanche
Edmonton Oilers
Minnesota Wild
Pittsburgh Penguins
Seattle Kraken
Tampa Bay Lightning
Toronto Maple Leafs
Vegas Golden Knights
Winnipeg Jets

With interest in Schenn skyrocketing, don't be surprised to see the Canucks land at least a third-round pick and prospect for him. A second-round pick does not seem too out of the question, either. After all, he is exactly the kind of shutdown defenseman that all postseason teams love. Nevertheless, let's see where Schenn ends up landing from here.
