That is terrible....there HAS to be better officiating available than what we're seeing here this season, what a disgrace.

Why is Jones still getting top 6 minutes? Getting 2As today yet he was still invisible. Healthy him, he is a bum right now.
Jiggy needs to start next game, Varly looks a mess. |

I'll start passing judgement on this team when we pull the trigger on O'Reilly either way. It probably won't be much better, but at least then we will truly see what we are operating with. |

If Landeskog is as close as people are saying:
Landeskog-Duchene-Parenteau
Palushaj-Stastny-McGinn
Jones-Mitchell-Hejduk
McLeod-Olver-Kobasew
Bordy out but I'd love to keep McLeod on third line. He's been so good. Actually, scratch that, put jones on fourth line and see if Olver's heart can rub off on him. |

Oh, and that Duchene goal was ABSOLUTE horse-pockey! Awesome shot by Duchene, but just a mess for the refs. Varlamov needs Johnson back, plain and simple, that or we should have gotten Siemens up here this season. |

Varly needs less O'Byrne. |

I think the Avs are looking decent this year considering they are missing two of their top forwards. I'm really wondering where O'Reilly ends up.. maybe in Toronto for Gardiner and Franson or something. What's the deal with Barrie? Is he just off to a hot start or is he supposed to be the real deal? |

1. He's got a lot of talent
2. Assistant David Quinn is a master at working with Dmen. Shattenkirk studied under him at BU. |

One of the reason they let Shattenkirk go was because they had Barrie and Elliot in the system. |

Doesn't Gardiner have a concussion? I rather not have him, or anything from Toronto for that matter. We should trade someone with O'reilly and just get a good d-man. I wish we could get Yandle, we'd probably have to add for that. Though the Coyotes probably wouldn't be allowed to give O'reilly a 5 million dollar contract. |

I know those names have been tossed around, but in the end what we get offered out of TO are pending UFAs or Dmen who cant draw into their lineup on a regular basis. I dont see how that will appeal to the Avs |

The more I think about it, Rangers is the ideal place for him. They have big money line, and a second line of O'Reilly, Callahan, and Hagelin would really solidify their forward depths, and with some of their fans talking about Buying Richards Out, that gives him the chance to anchor the top line.
They have 4 young great dmen, eventually one is going to have to go. |

They would've been super-screwed if Rinne were starting. Feels so good to beat the Preds for the first time in three years. |

Buying out Richards does kind of make sense. He's a good player but his contract is just too ridiculous, especially now that the cap is coming down so much. As for the Rangers D, I think you're right, eventually somebody is going to have to go. Obviously the fit in Colorado would be Del Zotto but I'm not so sure he'll be the odd man out in NY. He makes the least $ and is their best offensive defensemen. You can't tell me Stralman is in the long term plans for that team. |

Johnson is a sold d-man but I still don't like that trade for the Avs. |

Just coming back from one. I think he's still going to be a hell of a player, probably averaging around 40 points a season and he's not bad defensively.
You would have to add a bit to get Yandle but that's not a bad fit considering OEL is looking like a stud and PHX is somewhat weak down the middle. With Hanzal, O'Reilly, and Vermette as their top 3 centers they'd be looking pretty good. The sad part is if they were giving up Yandle's contract, PHX would probably have to give O'Reilly his $5 million just to hit the cap floor |

Also when they have centres like Stepan and Kreider, he could be expendable. And I agree MDZ is their most offensively minded Dman, but guys like Girardi, Staal, and McDonagh are such hardnose guys with some offensive upside. Its a pretty envious spot to be if your a rangers fan.
I still think they could easily move one to gain that missing piece to push the back to the cup finals |

i think phx would just grab kobasew or o'byrne. even one extra season of pay is so important for that cap tight franchise and ownership in limbo. i think yandle for o'reilly is fair. |

This season the Avs are going nowhere. Hold O'Reilly till the deadline and hopefully catch a team trying to reach the Cup in the short season and will over pay. Injuries are killing them and the defense is terrible. I feel bad for Varly.
Also when this O'Reilly thing started on was on his side, but as it has progressed I think he is just being an bumhole at this point. You had one year where you led the team in scoring, which would have been about 4th best on other teams. You can't demand the money you're asking for. |
