I suspect Bennett finds his game after the break after a nice Christmas dinner. Wish we could trade Hudler but at this point in time he will only net a 2nd rounder, and at that price we will keep him for a playoff push. In the offseason I'm sure we could've acquired a 1st and prospect for Hudler, had BT been willing to part with the Lady Byng winner. |

was at the game last night, holy hell was that a weird game. Very sloppy live, seemed like the ice was in bad condition, as each team was fighting the puck bouncing all night.
Johnny is fun to watch live, but seeing Russell in person, he is one terrible Dman. Do not extend that bum |

I was glad to see the top line together again, they are really great. Wideman on the PP is a mistake. Ferland on the PP is great. He can pass the puck well and he isn't afraid to go to the front of the net. Brodie....well enough said there. Ramo has been playing really good and Hiller needs to go. Johnny Hockey....WOW......it is quite obvious he is the real deal. Monahan is the future captain and Bennett will turn it on....he has too much skill. |

Yep. Not only was it good to see them back together but for the first time all year they started to look like they did last year. They were moving the puck like crazy. I think the best is yet to come for those 3.
It's also just a matter of time for Ferland. I think he has the skill to become a 15-20 goal guy. Good hands and a great shot. |

Funny when you read the comments everyone sees the game differently. Thought Russell looked good with Hamilton, yes I would extend him. Not sure if Hartley trying to send a message to Sam, why is he not getting power play time? Raymond has more jump in his game but not enough to warrant pp time..
Colburne is playing the best I've ever seen, using his big body finally, creating chances, perfect bottom 6 player. good to see Bouma back, looked a little behind the play but his game will come.

Meh its fatmarsh...
I didn't see the game but happy with the result. So when do the Flames begin contract talks with JG?
I'm curious to see what this roster will look like next year. Lots of $ coming off the table including 2 goalies. The next two months and where this team is in the standings will decide allot of contracts...going to be fun. |

$50M / 8 years would be a steal for the Flames , if they can get Gaudreau to sign the deal. Might take $64M. Get him to sign for as long as possible. At the beginning of the year, I thought there was a chance of getting Johnny and Money each to sign 5 year, $25M - $30M deals. Now we can only hope that Sean doesn't start to really roll for the rest of the season so there's a chance to get him at a reasonable AAV. His contract might end up being more of s bridge deal if he keeps this pace up,but Johnny will be cashing in. |

Me too. Ever since he's come back from the hand injury I've thought Russell looked like last years addition.
Really like how Hamilton is rounding into form. Thought he really brought the physical game last night against a decent sized Jets team. |

It's a tough argument to make that one is necessarily going to be paid more than the other... From my perspective, these guys are the second coming of Kane and Toews. #1 centre and a top flight winger playing together...
I think the Flames give them (nearly) identical deals in the offseason. Gaudreau has the Kane flash and penchant for points (at home anyways) and Monahan is turning into that classic #1 centre as well.
It will be interesting no matter what! |
