He was the NHL D leader in driving possession for three of his first five years in the NHL. In the other two years, he was 3rd and 5th. In the last two years, he has been +10% relative to his very bad team. Therefore, he is arguably the best possession driving defenseman in the NHL. In addition he scores about 40 points per year.
Is he a towering superstar of the Victor Hedman/Drew Doughty persuasion? No. But there's only maybe five or ten of those guys.
There are 31 teams and therefore at a minimum, 31 #1 defenseman. Muzzin is easily in the top 30, probably closer to the top ten than 30th. Statistically, few defenseman are as good as he is.
I like the new vampire weekend singles, I'm a fan of everything they've done though. What'd you think? - lonnyBohonos
I absolutely love them. I can't be objective because I'd probably buy a record of Ezra signing in the shower, but they sound great. I've played them constantly and can't wait for the album.

A couple of thoughts: I don't judge anyone on what they listen to, and I don't really like people who only like things that no one else listens to or only like bands before they are famous etc. I just love music. For me, it's how I imagine some people feel about mountains or sunsets.
I make fun of bands like the Foo Fighters and Pearl Jam, even though I own their entire discographies (except for late era FF records) and can play most of their hits on guitar. I loved those bands when I was a kid.
I find the Foo Fighters offensive due to how beloved they are when in fact they are basically a latter age Guess Who, but that doesn't mean they don't have good songs sometimes.
I do find it crazy how people can get locked into their highschool music and never listen to new stuff. That I just can't understand. I mean, I still listen to radiohead and lots of 90s/2000s stuff, but just not exclusively.
I am sure you're right about the majority of people liking your music, but that's a pretty dumb argument because a) who cares? and b) when have the majority of people ever been right about anything?
I can assure you, however, that I do not like bands based on their obscurity as anyone could tell you since I put a video in each blog and they are almost exclusively extremely popular wellknown bands.
I mean, Vampire Weekend is in car commercials, they've sold millions of albums, they've been covered in the press constantly, the entire music industry is awaiting their new album with nearly the same level of ferver as a Drake record, so they are by no means obscure.
Anyways, the point is: music is awesome and you shouldn't be so judgemental when people don't like what you like. With the exception that you should definitely make fun of people who overrate either the Foo Fighers or the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. - James_Tanner

Closer to top 10 now? He wasn't the top D on the team he got traded from and isn't gonna be in Toronto either
Any Coyotes get injured over the break? There must be at least one. They're overdue. Broad City kicks ass, for sure. It's a shame it's the final season.
They should get Seinfeld longevity.

Very cool. Wonder why I hate the music of my 14 year old self though. - James_Tanner
Because you grew up to become a bitter, jaded, cynical self entitled millenial and 14 year old Jimmy still had some sense of hope and optimism in him and he also didn't look down upon and criticize everyone who didn't always agree with him? Just a guess but that is probably the reason why.

Gotta agree w/ Tanner here
Not too easy to find a top 4 dman w/ Stanley cup pedigree available
Someone on NYR blog said it best....."Muzzin passes the eye test on a nightly basis, and has great Advanced stats."

That isn't true. The Rangers and Oilers don't have a #1 d-man.

I'm not cynical, or self entitled or a millennial. But i do criticize losers on a regular basis.
