Eichel can go to arbitration if he wants to so he can have the surgery.
Why doesn't he? Either he knows he will lose or he doesn't really want the surgery.
The CBA allows him to use an independent arbitrator to decide if he should have surgery but he has not even bothered. |

We suck, no doubt. That's why this can not be another ROR return.... |

Hold the cards how?
Disgruntled Jack shows up, plays disinterested hockey, Goes on injured reserve on and off and continues to collect his 10 million/year paycheck while his trade value continues to drop?
Oh ya, Adams clearly holding pocket rockets

Can be a win win but the long weekend he holds out the longer he will be at the wrong end of any deal

Jersey Is rebuilding and by the looks of the current roster It appears to be going quite well, Why would they need an albatross like Tarasenko? |

Why would the back-up plan for Eichel be Tarasenko? Like name one team that is interested in acquiring Eichel as 1C who would then say...ah too bad we couldn't add him, so let's aim for an old banged-up winger who might bounce back, but probably ends up on IR again. Like which team? |

You really don't and your GM is a fool if he thinks he can play hardball towards a star player in his prime and manage to end up on top of the situation. Wanna put Eichel on LTIR all season long? That crap sounds baller and manly on the forums but it simply doesn't happen in the real world and Eichel and his team can make this situation a lot uglier than it is right now. Showing up in bad shape for training camp, playing unmotivated hockey, dragging down the rest of his team.
And despite airing all that dirty laundry online, Eichel is still winning the public opinion battle because it all boils down to a human being in severe physical pain who can not get the surgery he wants because a corporation (a not very well run one on top of that) doesn't let him. Contract stipulations or not, the optics don't look good on the Sabres and how they treat their franchise player will have an impact on the future of their blue chip prospects and their willigness to keep playing for them. |

Do you know for a fact that he is in severe physical pain?
The Sabres do hold the high cards, as he has 5 years left on his contract, and they offered a medically accepted approach to his injury. Not being a spine specialists, it sounds like each option (disc replacement surgery, fusion) both have their pros and cons. |

The last thing the Kings are looking for is another C. So no way are they looking at trading for Kuznetsov. |

Jack has the ability to have the Sabres pay him 50 million dollars and Jack, for the most part can just stay on IR, or LTIR for the remainder of his contract
That isn't the organization holding the "High Cards"
That can't force him onto the ice, if they did and he had a life altering injury as a result?, he would end up owning the Sabres

See if Yotes will take Eichel for 2022 and 2023 unprotected first round picks
Try to dump Okopso too(sell them on great leader type 😂)
Increase odds of Wright next year …
And odds of Bedard/Michkov 2023
At least in that scenario have a shot at super high end prospect replacement type
All the recent rumored proposals not including the top organizational prospect are ridiculous if true
Want Eichel… pay up. If not, than might as well gamble w the way the lottery balls roll 🤷♂️ |

I said it yesterday and it bears repeating, it’s the culture in Buffalo that needs a change… BIG TIME!! Keeping Eichel in the fold because you’re looking not just for a win in a trade but an obliteration of another GM, is really just adding to the poor culture. As some have already said, ringing back an uninterested and unmotivated Jack Eichel will continue to bring that organization down. I’m sure their are some solid offers on the table already. Pick one and start rebuilding that culture. |

Considering that both sides believe he needs surgery to fix his herniated disk, he is probably not feeling too great right now. Must be on painkillers daily and such, I can certainly empathize with the guy and understand the growing impatience from his camp to get his surgery done so he can move on.

I wouldn't be surprised if sweeny tries to make a play for Eichel, he loves him some american players. It would have to be pasta and debrusk heading the other way though. |
