He should be careful talking about a franchise that has at one time had legendary players like Chris Pronger, Marian Hossa and Pavel Datsyuk.

So, the Devs are so bad that the fact they beat down a team for a changed was the tipping point in firing their coach. Doesn't say much about how they view our team.

This season the way we are headed if we have any luck, but I am so tired/frustrated on trading away players for picks and prospects (who Fitz has managed to obtain Mukham and Stillman, not great). Its gotten exhausting looking at the draft every season for answers. Kick the can another 3 or more years down the road. I don't think ownership can buy their way to championship team - but they HAVE TO DO SOMETHING. The current state (or lets say past decade mostly) has been putrid and I still get monthly sales calls. Put an entertaining team on the ice and I will come, otherwise do not bother.

That should land us a couple 5th round picks

I’d like to think this off-season should be the last that we’re picking top 5-ish. Our young NHLers are almost there (if we had goaltending) to not be a bottom 10 team anymore. Holtz may help next year.. maybe Wood helps. Maybe new coaching staff helps. Maybe new/healthy goaltending. Maybe all the kids take another step, which is most of the team. Maybe another add via trade or Ufa. And then the future has Hughes and the new top 5 pick to add to the fold. We SHOULD be a great team for years to come.. but many things still have to break right and are still unknown. Dynasties are rare, even if you suck for several years before your talent matures. But it would be nice to be a Boston or Chicago, or Tampa or Pittsburgh..

Saw people suggesting that the devils should fire ruff and hire Tippett

With mcdavid and draistl and struggling to make the playoffs and all, should we even look at Tippett, I know we aren't a playoff team but for a coach with the top player on the league and another top 5 center and having those issues it's a red flag

Tippett got fired because his goaltending was complete trash, which is Holland's fault. The team numbers were actually good under Tippett, but not much he can do when management has been as awful as its been in Edmonton, whether it's not securing a goaltending upgrade or just flat out making bad trades/FA signings. Holland needs to be gone next.

I wouldn't completely hate it if he replaced Ruff, but he certainly wouldn't be my first choice.
