Did I? Well, I guess that makes sense, his money's money so why got play for loose change somewhere? Might as well embrace the broadcasting career. - Karine Hains
he'd be much more relevent than on the ice. still think Leafs will sign him though. |

well if he wants the attention that would sure be a good way to do it... holy.
and even if he isn't the player he used to be physically, at least he'd know he has only 1 playoff round to play, and then he could retire in his hometown... #ForeverALeaf |

Hains: Bue Line Battle Looming
As rookie camp approaches, it’s time to wonder who will manage to crack the line-up this year and that question is particularly interesting when it comes to the Canadiens’ blue line with roster spots up for grabs. - Karine Hains
I did not think Schueneman was that bad last year, and while he did have some obvious brain farts, never seemed to be the worst option on D in any given game.
He is a decent 6-7 guy that can play more minutes if injuries happen (at least, for a short span).

I'm pretty sure he's better than Wideman and most teams 6th defenseman. I guess most teams see him as a distraction or something like that. |

Not many spots for rookies up front.
I guess Dach is a new young player to look forward to. Otherwise, Suzuki and Caufield were already there. - deadpoulet
Until they can get rid of 2 (if not 3) of Drouin, Hoffman, and/or Armia... kinda hard to find a place for youth, with Dach, Dadinov and Monahan coming in.

Once again, Armia is a non factor on that 4th line, other than his stupid cap hit. You don't want rookies there anyway.
Other than that, yeah they have a lot of average players with big cap hits.
Then again, do they have any NHL ready rookies who could play upfront? Maybe slaf, but that's it, no?
It's another story with that blueline. It seems way more open there. Primeau could get another shot pretty soon as well. |

I would argue that he would indeed be a distraction in MTL. no one needs that poop, I'd prefer to have the kids learn from Savard loll |

You get rid or Armia, then you can stick one of those other dead-weights on the 4th line, so kids can play more relevant minutes.
That is the point... getting rid of 2 of those 3 frees up decent opportunities for the youth.

I think there are markets he could go to where he would be an upgrade and be a positive influence on kids in the lineup.
I also don't think he wants to play in certain smaller markets, as the media play would be very minimal. And I am not sure any of the big media market teams really want him.

that isn't the kind I want though. I'm very specific in my chaos, you could almost say it's too organized to be chaotic.

maybe so, I'm sure he's changed, but at the same time we're talking about a guy who basically ruined his game because he was too distracted by other poop. not the best example I'd want to rely on to be a mentor for the younger guys or anything.

oh for sure, not saying there weren't any other factors, I just wouldn't be impressed if Hughes pulled that kind of move. I'm sure there are much better options out there.
