Drouin knows he is done, this is his last NHL contract, playing out the clock. Iwill give him credit for trying and showing effortthis year, even with that bad wrist.
Dadonov just does not want to be in MTL. And plays like he does not want to be here.
Hoffman is so one dimensional a player, who would be OK as a 3rd line option if he was making 1/2 the salary. I just do not think he has much left in the can either and is in full "this team ain't gonna win, so I don't care much" mode.
I can get behind keeping Drouin, because effort is there. The other two, just (frank)ing waive them and bring up kids(any kids) already. And if that causes problems in the locker room, then you know which players want to be here and which ones you want to send elsewhere. - Mashadar
I agree with your assessment, and unfortunately it seems Hoffman is now a zero-dimensional player, like a one-trick pony who forgot how to do that trick he used to do. and if Dadonov doesn't want to be there, you'd think he'd show something to at least generate interest from other teams... I doubt he'd prefer going to the KHL.

I just do not see anyone wanting Drouin, Dadonov or Hoffman... the first 2 will be gone when their contracts are up and Hoffman likely bought out over the summer.
Monahan is an interesting case... if Dach stays on the first line, I can see the Habs trying to keep him beyond this year.
My money is still on one of Monahan or Dvorak likely being traded. - Mashadar
This seems like the most likely outcome in my mind as well. |

Montreal or the front lines in Ukraine... likely the only reason he has not walked away.

yeah, Russia is now recruiting ex-criminals, pretty sure they'd take a washed-up hockey player as well... |

at this point of the season, we can expect all 4 of them to be gone come training camp next year
Hoffman: Bought out next summer, cap hit for 2023-24 and 24-25 is 1.667M/yr
Dadonov: Traded for garbage with salary retention
Drouin: Finishes the year with MTL then moves on
Monahan: Traded for a pick and/or prospect and another contract, Habs retaining 50% of his salary to make the move possible
That's 21.375M in cap space gone while being pegged for 1.667M cap hit for 2yrs for Hoffman buyout. That's a net saving of 19.7M in cap space.
I still see them moving Armia or Anderson sooner than later also |

Good summary ... Ti-Paul's contract (3.4 mil) will also be off the books as well.

Norman Flynn in 2019

I didn’t understand much of that Symba, but I do know Norman Flynn. That’s too much Simmons’ and Suzuki in the same sentence. Did he want the Habs to trade Suzuki for Simmons?? That would be a totally Norman Flynn to say…. |
