There is also better choices before him that I don't even think will win because it's a runaway this year. But Karlsson would be a better bet. McDavids partner in crime Leon. Maybe Tage Thompson? McDavid has been the MVP for like six years running. Only reason he doesn't get it every year is because the league wants to spread things around. So they factor in things like, 'did their team make the playoffs because of said player's play?' It's not McDavid's fault Edmonton can't put 18-20 competent players on the ice alongside him, the fact he does what he does without proper support makes it all the more impressive. Imagine where they would be without him.

Jack Hughes is a GREAT young player, but it's McDavid. McDavid is on pace for 154 points.

As a long time Devil fan, it's nice to finally have a player on our team that is offense first instead of defense like the Devils have been known for. Hughes is having a breakout season for sure and is going to be a star in this league for a long time BUT McDavid is a man among children out there on the ice. Edmonton fans have been blessed twice with The Great One and now McDavid (plus you had Messier also lucky b@stards!!). Honestly if Edmonton could put half a team around him, they would be a top team in the league.....he's that good! Yes the Devil team right now is better than Edmonton, but McDavid is having another ridiculous season. McDavid hands down would be my pick.
