Letang is an example of someone who went straight from juniors to third pair for a few years. Turned out fine, so I wouldn't hold him back I'd that happens. Third pair D plays more than 4th line forward. - Tojo.
True, though getting someone of Letang caliber again would be unlikely but incredible. He did almost make the team once I suppose it’s possible.
On RD I think the team knows what they have with st ivany and Timmons given their age.
LD is nothing but bottom pairing dmen but I imagine 3 of them will be back. Graves obviously, gryz prob resigned, Shea was just resigned, kolo.. has looked decent in his short sample. Pickering. Too bad we just don’t have a 1LD. |

Timmons isn’t signed past this season. I assume we’ll extend him cus why trade for him if we don’t but he’s not currently signed. |

What are the odds that the Pens keep their pick?I’m sure they have couple fav players but I wouldnt be surprised if that pick is traded in a package deal for one last attempt at win now mode. |

Dubas said before this little streak that he's keeping that pick. I doubt he trades it even though they're dropping draft slots. I'd like to see him use some of the other picks and move up if possible.

Obviously we are gonna lose only 1 more game this season, somehow squeak into the playoffs.... and then win the whole damn thing. Doing so ensures every draft pick we got from another contending team this year is not the last pick of the round. |

I am not saying Brunicke will be our next Letang, in fact I really doubt it. That was just to say starting as a third pair d for a couple years wouldn't hinder his growth. |

Since he's a RFA, I'm expecting him to stay so long as he plays well enough to look like an option. He and St. Ivany will probably compete for 3 RD next year. |

I thought the drop off was at 8. I'd prefer Desnoyers or Frondell if outside the top 4, but no guarantee they'd pick them anyways. |

No one actually knows where the drop off is, the best NHLr coming out of this next draft could be in the 3rd round. Hard to tell with these kids now days. All soft. |

Warm bodies for the NHL to keep the AHL guys together for a Calder Cup run.

To make sure we are all on the same page… a SV% of .889 is hardly something to put in bold type on your resume… but Jarry did make the key saves.
Playoff hopes are still a crack-pipe dream.
We have already accumulated the same number of losses we had 2-years ago. Jarry wins a few then gives away twice as many. Is he falling into that point again? Maybe sitting him will create a perceived value setting up an offseason trade?
Malkin isn't getting better, but possibly could get better results if he wasn't always getting scrapheap, 3rd and 4th liners for his wingers. That's been going on for the last 5 years. Could it be he just doesn't know how to complain in English? Haha
Let's add Letang to a permanent 2nd pair defenseman. While his conditioning keeps him eating TOI, he's slowing too. Possibly we should just turn Karlsson loose in that first pair RHD.
Dubas has a tough job to bring in young talent and develop them. Through the draft or otherwise.
For next season, the priority is (2) very physical LSDmen and to obtain or develop a real starting goalie. Easy-peasy |

This is why the Penguins will not be looking for a new starting goalie. |
