So you’re telling me there’s a chance - Lloyd Christmas
Still shocked by Johansson’s goal. Just not expecting that |

Petr has been playing great, but a tough road trip beckons. |

At least one of the good stats commenters ranked the final stretch as the toughest in the league.
I’m saving this for a write up, but Bettman did a release on next year’s proposed season. Same time frame, 84 games instead of 82, and 3 week shut down for the Olympics. Tons of back to backs etc. i have a feeling the AHL is going to get plenty of calls across the league. Just way too much squeezed in and almost a full reboot for players not in the Olympics. |

Jeremy Laura: Red Wings get huge goal from Johansson in shutout win over Vegas - Jeremy Laura
There seems to be no quit in this team and they continue to play solid hockey. Remember the days of Blashill and Lalonde and all we asked for was something that looked like professional hockey. Well now we have that. Will we make the playoffs, chances are no. Will we not quit before the last game, I say no. The Toddfather is building something and I think the players believe in what he is selling. The biggest take away from this year is we found a 2C in Kasper, the team is learning how to play the right way and win and we have rookies contributing. Next year we will see more young bodies (ASP, Lombardi & Wallindar) that will continue to light a fire under the vets and if Yzerman can add a couple players that make life miserable for the opposition while subtracting Holl, Tarasenko, Gustafsson we will see the playoffs and possibly win a round! |

McLellan had a near impossible task in terms of post season. Gave us 2 7 game win streaks. Totally agree on better effort, there was a dip post break but it’s still been better than the predecessor. Kasper looks like another gem. His production under Todd and on upper lines has been a welcome lift. They waited too long on coaching change, but definitely a good change. |

Kasper's goal was not actually a tip-in on a shot by "Gus". That was a really sweet Pass-shot by Gus. He has stepped up his game, although too little too late...... |

I agree that Kasper’s game has really come on, I think we can debate the difference between a shot and a shot pass that still leads to a tip in and get nowhere. To me, it looked like a moving screen where Kasper was able to do a redirect on what would have been called a shot on net. I don’t think that differentiation takes away from what a fantastic play it was. Kasper has 2c locked and that move has paid off for everyone on the line. And, in this case, the D pairing behind them. |

Agreed. My thought was to give Gus some credit there. I like to give credit where credit is due. Wasn't meant to discredit Kasper in any way. Yep, Kasper is a lock 2C. |

You’re right in that. Gus was actively watching the play and made a solid move. He’d had a disappointing season so it’s definitely good to bring out the type of vision Kane had known from the Dman. Well put |
