I used to imagine that I would grow up to be the world's foremost music critic. That people would base their entire idea of what music was good and what was bad based on what I had to say.

I knew/know that I have what is called "perfect taste" and so I assumed it was only a matter of time. Unfortunately, you can't just have perfect taste, you've also got to write and submit that writing and you've got to pretend that - in order to bury the rockists - Janet Jackson is now better than the Cure and always was.

Anyways, music writing doesn't pay f'all, so I never really got to reveal my superpower to the world.

But Corey Pronman is to writing about NHL prospects what I am to deciding what music is good or not.

He is basically the final word on who or what is a good NHL prospect, so I am here today to celebrate his absolutely fantastic take on Coyotes top prospect Barrett Hayton.

I myself had been under the impression that Hayton was a good player with a massive ceiling he was unlikely to hit.

But if Hayton is as good as Pronman says - and unlike me, Pronman actually earned his authority - then maybe the Coyotes are going to be much better than people think.

Pronman rates Hayton as on the bubble between being "Elite" or "High-end" - essentially it could go either way.

He goes on to say he has #1 centre potential and could play in the NHL right now.

To me, this is the equivalent of you hearing me say the new album by your favorite band is amazing.

(And if you dig Bon Iver, then you are in for a treat with his new album!)

If the Coyotes role out the Keller-Schmaltz-Kessel line to start, a second line with Hinostroza-Stepan-Hayton might be pretty sweet. I am assuming here that they won't start him as a centre, but who knows?

Previously, I was feeling OK about the Hayton situation, but Pronman's salivatory write-up has got be pumped.

Go 'Yotes!
