I will have a rumor blog for you prior to dinner today, but a friend texted me today that he wished he could change his predictions...here are some questions that have arisen that may make you re-consider:
1. Montreal and NY Rangers - When two top goalies play it can sometimes come down to which team has more natural snipers...(not that Tanner Glass is a sniper of course...but that was a hell of a snipe!)
2. Toronto vs Washington - Last night showed the Caps have reason to be very nervous and when the Leafs are playing with a lot of emotion they can swarm the Caps defense and look dominant...Last night's game went to Overtime and yet we really haven't seen the full Auston Matthews show yet...The Caps experience mattered once the overtime hit...The Leafs looked very nervous in OT.
3. Boston's experience matters against Ottawa and the Sharks experience against Edmonton is a BIG deal. Both Edmonton and Ottawa have bright futures...and the learning they are gaining from this first round is going to prove to be a big part of that success...
4. You can argue that 4 of the 5 Canadian teams in the playoffs are all crazy young and should take this first round for what it is...Montreal however is a much more experienced team that needs to step up...
5. It is noteworthy that all 5 Canadian teams are 0-1 in their series, but it's very early.
6. To me, Calgary actually looks like a team ready to break through this crazy Anaheim jinx...I liked what I saw last night after a rough start.
7. I expect the Penguins will see even more punishing hockey today...The Jackets need to play that way and Torts is "probably" fine ramping up the physicality...don't you think?
8. If Pekke Rinne is otherworldly...The Preds could be a real issue for the Hawks.

The only one I would reconsider is my pick of Ottawa in 7 against Boston...besides that I am very happy with my picks...But Calgary needs to win game 2...in a big way for me!
